Inleiding
Het TUINHUISJE werd vlak voor de Tweede Wereldoorlog gebouwd in opdracht van de bankdirecteur Van Gijn, door een Dordtse aannemer.
Het is opgetrokken in de stijl van de Interbellum-architectuur en staat ten zuidoosten van het herenhuis.
De noordgevel is voorzien van een nieuw traliehek.
Omschrijving
Vanuit een rechthoekige plattegrond in rode baksteen opgetrokken tuinhuisje, dat bestaat uit één bouwlaag en een zoldering onder zadeldak. Het dak is gedekt met gesmoorde Hollandse pannen en voorzien van eenvoudige houten boeiborden en een houten dakgoot op klossen. De noord- en zuidgevel zijn puntgevels. Rechtgesloten gevelopeningen onder bakstenen strek. Vensters met roeden en waterdorpels van geglazuurde tegels.
De tuingevel (zuid) heeft links een deur van houten kraaldelen en rechts een vierruitsvenster. In het midden van de puntgevel, voor de zoldering, wederom een vierruitsvenster.
De zijgevel (oost) is blind en de andere zijgevel (west) heeft in het midden een venster dat drie vierruitsramen bevat. In de noordgevel is een traliehek aangebracht en daarboven bevindt zich in het midden van de puntgevel een vierruitsvenster.
Waardering
Het tuinhuis is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde; als voorbeeld van een redelijk gaaf tuinhuis in een Interbellum stijl.
Het tuinhuis heeft ensemblewaarde als onderdeel van het complex; het vormt een eenheid met het woonhuis en de garage.

The GARDEN HOUSE was built shortly before the Second World War on commission of bank director Van Gijn, by a Dordrecht contractor.
It was erected in the style of Interbellum architecture and stands to the south-east of the mansion.
The north facade is provided with a new lattice gate.
Description
A garden house erected from a rectangular floor plan in red brick, consisting of one storey and an attic under a gabled roof. The roof is covered with bonded Dutch tiles and provided with simple wooden barge boards and a wooden gutter on corbels. The north and south facades are pointed gables. Straight-edged window openings under brick stretcher. Windows with glazing bars and drip mouldings of glazed tiles.
The garden facade (south) has a door of wooden bead moulding on the left and a four-pane window on the right. In the centre of the pointed gable, facing the attic, again a four-pane window.
The side facade (east) is blank and the other side facade (west) has in the centre a window containing three four-pane lights. In the north facade a lattice gate has been installed and above it in the centre of the pointed gable there is a four-pane window.
Valuation
The garden house is of general importance due to its architectural-historical value; as an example of a reasonably intact garden house in Interbellum style.
The garden house has ensemble value as part of the complex; it forms a unity with the dwelling house and the garage.
