Omschrijving complexonderdeel 3

- vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde;

- als voorbeeld van een koetshuis uit het derde kwart van de 19de eeuw, die in hoofdvorm en indeling als zodanig goed herkenbaar is;

Description of complex component 3

The COACH HOUSE with STABLE and UPPER DWELLING dating from the third quarter of the 19th century is executed with eclectic details. In 1881 the stable section was extended to the rear. Around 1937 several modifications took place, including the teak wood door. Free-standing single-storey building on T-shaped floor plan, placed under gabled roofs set at right angles to each other with overhangs, covered with dampened Dutch tiles; the southern roof slopes with red improved Dutch tiles. At the front (northwest) there is a gabled projection. The façades are grey rendered with a black painted plinth. The gable ends are finished with simple wooden gable boards. The symmetrically arranged front façade (northwest) has in the centre, at the location of the (slightly overhanging) gabled projection, a pointed gable with on the upper storey a non-original composite window group. On the ground floor there are three double stable doors with wrought-iron hinges, the middle one placed within a profiled Tudor arch frame. Originally both gable ends on the ground floor had a coupled round-arched window with profiling, but the one on the southwest side has been replaced by a modern window group. At both round-arched windows on the upper storey, the round arch is accentuated by a profiled frame. The inward-opening double windows with three-pane glazing bars have two-pane round-arched fanlights and a simple wrought-iron French balcony railing. The cross-wing has on the northeast side three pairs of original, coupled double round-arched windows with profiling. On the southwest side there is on the left an early 20th-century teak wood door in neo-style with fanlight and to its right a high-placed two-pane window with shutters. The later added stable section has stable windows with curved lights. On the northeast side there is also a braced stable door with three-pane fanlight. In the rear façade is in the centre a braced double stable door with a small two-pane loft window with shutter above it. Internally, the layout of the coach house and stable section is still recognizable as such. A simple staircase leads to the upper dwelling.

Valuation

The COACH HOUSE with STABLE and UPPER DWELLING is of general importance:

- because of its cultural and architectural-historical value;

- as an example of a coach house from the third quarter of the 19th century, which is still readily recognizable in its main form and layout;

- the coach house has ensemble value because of the spatial and functional relationship with the other complex components of the historic country estate Langenhorst.
