The register's description

Omschrijving complexonderdeel 1

In 1937 heeft F.A.

Waardering

Het LANDHUIS is van algemeen belang:

- als hoofdonderdeel van de historische buitenplaats Langenhorst, de plaats markerend waar vanouds het centrale hoofdgebouw op de buitenplaats was gesitueerd;

Description complex component 1

Although A. van Reeck acquired some farmhouses in the second quarter of the 17th century, it is not precisely known when a country house was built. In 1780 there is mention of "a spacious well-timbered mansion, provided with various hung and unhung rooms and Apartments ...". According to old images, around 1830-1840 a large two-storey MANOR HOUSE in neoclassical style was created with a length of nine window bays and a width of five, covered by a double hipped roof. A comparison with the cadastral plan of 1822 shows that for this purpose a long wing (with greenhouses) on the southeast side was demolished. In 1937 F.A. Eschauzier at the commission of C. Stolk lowered the then house by one storey. Internally he designed a manor house in English style with a spacious hall with fireplace, stairwell and void. In doing so the old foundations and internal and external walls were maintained, as was the majority of the facade openings. The entrance was moved from the long southwest side to the short northwest side. In 2001 alterations took place, whereby the changes by Eschauzier were undone. The facades and virtually all internal walls from before 1938 were maintained in the process.

Valuation

The MANOR HOUSE is of general importance:

- as the main component of the historic country estate Langenhorst, marking the place where the central main building on the estate was traditionally situated;

- the manor house has ensemble value because of the spatial and functional relationship with the other complex components of the estate.
