Inleiding
Het TOEGANGSHEK met PIJLERS uit omstreeks 1900 (8) markeert de 18de-eeuwse oprijlaan, die van de Rijksstraatweg in zuidoostelijke richting naar het voorplein loopt.
Omschrijving
Twee zandstenen hekpijlers met geprofileerde dekplaten, waarbij aan de straatzijde in reliëf met vergulde letters de naam "ZUYD" "WIJK" is aangegeven.
Waardering
Het TOEGANGSHEK met twee HEKPIJLERS is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een 18de-eeuws toegangshek, dat de huidige entree markeert van de historische buitenplaats Zuydwijk.
Het toegangshek met twee hekpijlers is gaaf wat betreft hoofdvorm en materiaalgebruik (maar behoeft herstel).

The ACCESS GATE with two GATE PIERS is of general interest because of its cultural and architectural-historical value as an example of an 18th-century access gate, which marks the current entrance of the historic country estate Zuydwijk.
