Omschrijving
SCHOOLGEBOUW (C) (Wilhelminaweg 5, gangtype), behorend bij de voormalige Rijks H.B.S., bezit een in hoofdvorm rechthoekige plattegrond en telt een- of tweelaagse bouwdelen met een zolderverdieping. De eindgevels van het zadeldak worden door trapgevels beëindigd. In de voorzijde komt een risalerend bouwdeel met schilddak voor. In de middenas van de achtergevel doorbreekt een trapgevel de gootlijst ter plaatse. De indeling van de gevels en typen vensters, alsook de leien op het dak, zijn als beschreven in de omschrijving van het complex.
De VOORGEVEL is asymmetrisch ingedeeld en wordt bepaald door een risaliet waartegen zich links een uitpandig portiek bevindt en rechts een éénlaags uitbouwtje met aangekapt, platgedekt schilddak met piron. De portiek met vloer gemetseld in visgraatmotief, bezit een spitsboogvormige doorgang aan de voor- en linkerzijde onder een balkon met gemetselde balusters. De vleugeldeur onder drie gekoppelde ramen in het portiek is identiek aan die welke voorkomt in het hoofdgebouw. In het tussenliggende muurvlak onder het balkon is aan de straatzijde een gevelsteen geplaatst met in reliëf temidden van wijnranken, een cartouche waarop in reliëf-belettering de tekst 'Gymnastiek en Teekenen'. Op het balkon sluit een enkele deur aan. Links van het portiek bevindt zich een gevel die eindigt in een trapgevel met gekoppeld, per geleding twee ramen met in de top van de gevel een luikje. De risaliet in het midden van de voorgevel bezit een hoog oprijzend schilddak met een nok met vorstkam die haaks op de straat is gericht. De voorzijde van de gevel kent naar boven toe een vermeerdering van ramen. In de eerste geleding komt een klein venster voor, gevolgd door een gekoppeld venster met drie ramen en boven is dit type gescheiden door een kalf, uitgebreid met bovenlichten. In de rechterkant van de risaliet komt een klein raampje voor. Het eenlaags bouwdeel in de oksel van risaliet en hoofdmassa bezit een smalle trapgevel in de middenas die de gootlijn doorbreekt. Begane gronds zijn twee gekoppelde ramen aanwezig onder het gedeelde raam in de top van de trapgevel.
De LINKER ZIJGEVEL wordt gedomineerd door een trapgevel die symmetrisch is ingedeeld. Begane gronds komen drie vensters met kruiskozijnen voor en in de tweede bouwlaag is temidden van twee kruiskozijnen een driestrooksvenster geplaatst, dat door de toevoeging van drie halfgrote ramen ten opzichte van de beide zijramen is vergroot. In de geveltop is een kloosterkozijn met luik aanwezig. In het rechts, terugliggende gevelvlak komen in beide bouwlagen drie kleine ramen voor.
De ACHTERGEVEL wordt bepaald door een in het midden geplaatste trapgevel die de gootlijn doorbreekt en als opzetgevel tot halverwege het zadeldak reikt. De vleugels worden door steunberen in twee beuken per zijde onderverdeeld. In de tweede beuk van links is een oorspronkelijk beglaasde vleugeldeur aanwezig. Onder de bakgoot komt alleen in deze zijde van de gevel per beuk een enkelvoudig raam voor. Vanaf een uitgebouwd stookhok (met aan de voorzijde een deur) gaat begane gronds in het midden van de gevel een uitgemetseld rookkanaal omhoog tot in de kruin van de trapgevel. Ter weerszijden bevinden zich in de eerste bouwlaag een raam met bovenlicht en boven een enkelvoudig raam dat in hoogte en als type aansluit bij die welke voorkomen in de linkervleugel van de gevel. De rechtervleugel is begane gronds voorzien van een houten aanbouw met gerabatte horizontale plankendelen onder een met bitumen gedekt lessenaarsdak. In het dakschild van het zadeldak komt links en rechts een dakkapel voor van het standaardtype.
De RECHTER ZIJGEVEL wordt grotendeels in beslag genomen door de eindgevel van de hoofmassa die door een trapgevel wordt afgesloten en vensterassen bezit die identiek zijn aan die in de linker zijgevel. Links in de hoek met de voorgevel bevindt zich een eenlaagse uitbouw waarin zich begane gronds een venster met gekoppeld drieruits ramen bevindt. De geveltop bevat een klein raampje met bovenlicht overeenkomstig de straatzijde van dit bouwdeel.
In het redelijk gave INTERIEUR zijn diverse onderdelen bewaard gebleven als tegelvloer, bordestrap met ijzeren balustrade waarin een vierpas-motief en veelal de paneeldeuren die zijn geplaatst onder een segmentboog.

SCHOOL BUILDING (C) (Wilhelminaweg 5, corridor type), belonging to the former State H.B.S., has a rectangular floor plan in main form and comprises one or two-storey building sections with attic space. The end gables of the gabled roof are terminated by stepped gables. In the front is a projecting building section with hipped roof. In the middle axis of the rear facade a stepped gable breaks through the gutter line at that point. The arrangement of the facades and types of windows, as well as the slates on the roof, are as described in the description of the complex.
The FRONT FACADE is asymmetrically arranged and is determined by a risalit against which on the left is an outbuilding portico and on the right a single-storey extension with an attached, flat-roofed hipped roof with tile. The portico with floor laid in herringbone pattern, has a pointed arch shaped passage on the front and left side under a balcony with masonry balusters. The French door under three coupled windows in the portico is identical to that which occurs in the main building. In the intermediate wall space under the balcony on the street side a facade stone has been placed with in relief in the midst of vine tendrils, a cartouche on which in relief lettering the text 'Gymnastics and Drawing'. A single door adjoins the balcony. To the left of the portico is a gable which terminates in a stepped gable with coupled, per division two windows and in the top of the gable a small shutter. The risalit in the middle of the front facade has a high rising hipped roof with a ridge with frost crest directed at right angles to the street. The front of the gable knows an increase of windows towards the top. In the first division a small window occurs, followed by a coupled window with three windows and above this type is separated by a calf, extended with fanlights. In the right side of the risalit a small window occurs. The single-storey building section in the angle between risalit and main mass has a narrow stepped gable in the middle axis which breaks through the gutter line. At ground level two coupled windows are present under the divided window in the top of the stepped gable.
The LEFT SIDE GABLE is dominated by a stepped gable which is symmetrically arranged. At ground level three windows with cross windows occur and in the second storey in the midst of two cross windows a three-strip window is placed, which by the addition of three half-sized windows in relation to the two side windows has been enlarged. In the gable top a cloister window with shutter is present. In the right, set-back gable surface three small windows occur in both storeys.
The REAR GABLE is determined by a stepped gable placed in the middle which breaks through the gutter line and as a superimposed gable extends to halfway up the gabled roof. The wings are subdivided by buttresses into two aisles per side. In the second aisle from the left is an original glazed French door present. Under the eaves gutter an individual window occurs only on this side of the gable per aisle. From an extended boiler house (with a door on the front) a built-up flue rises at ground level in the middle of the gable to the apex of the stepped gable. On either side in the first storey is a window with fanlight and above an individual window which in height and as type corresponds to those which occur in the left wing of the gable. The right wing is at ground level provided with a wooden extension with chamfered horizontal plank sections under a bitumen-covered lean-to roof. In the roof slope of the gabled roof a dormer of the standard type occurs on the left and right.
The RIGHT SIDE GABLE is largely occupied by the end gable of the main mass which is terminated by a stepped gable and has window axes which are identical to those in the left side gable. On the left in the corner with the front facade is a single-storey extension in which at ground level a window with coupled three-pane windows is located. The gable top contains a small window with fanlight corresponding to the street side of this building section.
In the reasonably well-preserved INTERIOR various components have been retained such as tiled floor, main staircase with iron balustrade in which a quatrefoil motif and mostly the panel doors which are placed under a segment arch.
