Inleiding
Omstreeks 1934 in opdracht van Rijkswaterstaat gebouwde boogbrug over het Julianakanaal tussen de kernen Obbicht en Graetheide. Omstreeks 1934 werden in totaal vier van dit type boogbruggen over het Julianakanaal gebouwd. Deze bevinden zich in de gemeenten Meerssen, Maastricht en Born.
Omschrijving
Geklonken stalen boogbrug. Twee paraboolvormige liggers met rechte beëindiging en met vakwerk verticalen en in diagonalen. Boog eveneens met vakwerk. Stalen leuningen. Betonnen weg.
Brug rustend op twee kolommen in gewapend beton.

Deze stalen boogbrug is van cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van een technische ontwikkeling en vanwege de innovatieve waarde binnen de architectuur van waterstaatkundige werken in de eerste decennia van de twintigste eeuw.
