Inleiding
TOEGANGSHEK, behorende bij het agrarisch complex ten oosten van de Rijsdijk te Rhoon, geplaatst kort na de bouw van de boerderij in 1868. Het toegangshek is rijk gedecoreerd en ongewijzigd op de oorspronkelijke plaats bewaard gebleven.
Omschrijving
Het toegangshek staat op hardstenen dekplaten, die de bovenzijde vormen van een gemetselde brug. De brug overspant een brede, evenwijdig aan de Rijsdijk lopende sloot. Het symmetrische, gietijzeren hekwerk bestaat uit twee gecanneleerde, gietijzeren kolommen, bekroond door witgeschilderde bolvormige ornamenten waartussen twee draaiende hekdelen. De draaihekken zijn elk versierd met spijlen met pijlpunten die samen in het midden een cirkel met spaken vormen. Aan weerszijden van de kolommen zijn voluutvormige wangen geplaatst ter afscherming van de aflopende oevers. Op de brug zijn ter afscherming van het water twee hekken bestaande uit balusterpijlers en liggers aangebracht.

Het toegangshek is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische en de ensemblewaarde.

ACCESS GATE, belonging to the agricultural complex east of the Rijsdijk at Rhoon, erected shortly after the construction of the farmhouse in 1868. The access gate is richly decorated and has been preserved unaltered in its original location.
Description
The access gate stands on hardstone coping stones, which form the upper surface of a brick bridge. The bridge spans a wide ditch running parallel to the Rijsdijk. The symmetrical cast-iron gate consists of two fluted cast-iron columns, crowned by white-painted spherical ornaments between which two revolving gate leaves. The revolving gates are each decorated with spires with arrow points that together form a circle with spokes in the middle. On either side of the columns, scroll-shaped flanges have been placed to shield the sloping banks. On the bridge, two gates consisting of baluster pillars and beams have been erected to shield the water.
