Inleiding.
Het GRAFMONUMENT in Neo-Gotische stijl is vermoedelijk in 1929 of 1930 opgericht voor de huisarts H.A. Huysmans (1867-1928) van Oudenbosch met zijn echtgenote J.C.F. van Geyt (1871-1949) en gesigneerd door de kunstwerkplaats Cuypers en Co. te Roermond.
Omschrijving.
In kalksteen uitgevoerde beeldengroep op rechthoekig voetstuk en ervoor een liggende zerk met tekst en knielbankje met opschrift 'Bid voor ons'. Dit voetstuk draagt een metalen plaquette met het reliëfportret van Huysmans die tussen 1899 en 1928 huisarts was en de tekst 'Van zijne dankbare patiënten en vrienden'. De beeldengroep toont in diep reliëf tegen de achtergrond van een boomstronk en een rotspartij de barmhartige Samaritaan die zich buigt over de zittende gekwetste reiziger en hem troost biedt.
Waardering.
Het monument is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling; het heeft waarde vanwege de plaats in het oeuvre van de beeldhouwerswerkplaats; het is onderdeel van een groter geheel, de kern van Oudenbosch, dat stedenbouwkundig van belang is en vanwege de situering welke verbonden is met de ontwikkeling van Oudenbosch; het is gaaf bewaard gebleven.

The FUNERAL MONUMENT in Neo-Gothic style was presumably erected in 1929 or 1930 for the general practitioner H.A. Huysmans (1867-1928) of Oudenbosch with his wife J.C.F. van Geyt (1871-1949) and signed by the art workshop Cuypers en Co. in Roermond.
Description.
A group of figures in limestone executed on a rectangular pedestal and in front of it a recumbent slab with inscription and a kneeling bench with the inscription 'Pray for us'. This pedestal bears a metal plaque with a relief portrait of Huysmans who was a general practitioner between 1899 and 1928 and the text 'From his grateful patients and friends'. The group of figures shows in deep relief against the background of a tree stump and rocky outcrop the Good Samaritan bending over the seated wounded traveller and offering him comfort.
Valuation.
The monument is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a social and spiritual development; it has value because of its place in the oeuvre of the sculptors' workshop; it is part of a larger whole, the centre of Oudenbosch, which is of urban-planning importance and, because of its situation which is connected with the development of Oudenbosch, it has been well preserved.
