Inleiding
Tegen de zuidelijke transeptfaçade van de R.K. H. Lambertuskerk te Beers staat links van de calvariegroep een neo-gotische PIETÀ onder afdak, waarvoor het graf van P.A.H.E. Thijssen uit 1918. De pietà dateert uit 1917-18 en is uitgevoerd naar een ontwerp van C. Franssen, met een beeld van H. van der Geld.
Omschrijving
Onder hetzelfde houten lessenaarsdak op korbelen is naast de calvarieberg een grafmonument met pietà opgesteld. De gevel van de kerk is ter plaatse gecementeerd en voorzien van een schildering met lauwerkrans en wijkruisen. Het kalkstenen pietàbeeld is ongesigneerd. Ervoor ligt een hardstenen zerk met een opgelegde natuurstenen plaat waarop, in hoogreliëf, het symbool voor geloof, hoop en liefde, lauwerkransen en een koninklijke onderscheiding zijn aangebracht. Op de zerk de tekst: "Gedenk in uwe gebeden de ziel van zaliger / den edelgrootachtbare heer / Petrus Alphonsus Hermanus Eulogius Thijssen / Burgemeester der gemeente Beers / Lid der Prov. Staten van Noord-Brabant / Ridder in de Orde van Oranje Nassau / geboren te Beers 3 juli 1854, aldaar overleden 13 nov. 1918 / Hij ruste in vrede / aan de voet van dezen Calvarieberg door hem gesticht".

Beneath the same wooden lectern roof on corbels, next to the calvary hill, a grave monument with pietà has been placed.
