Inleiding
De RIJWIELSTALLING is gelegen langs de Leeuwensteinlaan, rechts van het gemeentehuis. Het gebouwtje werd in 1900 gebouwd naar ontwerp van ir. J. Dony en fungeerde oorspronkelijk als koetshuis bij het landhuis Leeuwenstein. In 1937, bij de verbouwing van Leeuwenstein onder leiding van H.W. Valk, werd het gebouwtje vergroot en tot rijwielstalling verbouwd. De rijwielstalling toont elementen van de Middeleeuwse kasteelarchitectuur.
Omschrijving
Het eenlaags gebouw heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en een licht overstekend zadeldak op klossen, gedekt met leien. De muren zijn opgetrokken in witgeschilderde baksteen, met waterlijsten in de voorgevel. Aan de noordzijde een schermgevel met twee ronde hoektorens en kantelen. De ingang wordt gevormd door een rondboogpoort met houten deur, waarboven een natuurstenen sluitsteen met kopje. Boven deze ingang een natuurstenen pelikaan op een licht uitkragende sokkel. Voor de ingang twee lage, gebogen bakstenen muurtjes. In de torens zijn spleetvormige vensters aangebracht.
De oost- en zuidgevel zijn voorzien van rondboogvensters met hardstenen afzaat. Op de zuidoostelijke hoek van het gebouwtje een bakstenen penant met ezelsrug.
Waardering
De rijwielstalling behorend bij het gemeentehuis is van algemeen belang. Het bezit cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een typologische ontwikkeling. Het heeft daarnaast architectuurhistorische waarde door de opvallende historiserende detaillering. De rijwielstalling bezit ensemblewaarde door de samenhang met het gemeentehuis. Tenslotte is de rijwielstalling van belang vanwege de gaafheid.

Introduction
The BICYCLE SHED is located along the Leeuwensteinlaan, to the right of the town hall. The building was constructed in 1900 according to a design by ir. J. Dony and originally functioned as a coach house for the country house Leeuwenstein. In 1937, during the renovation of Leeuwenstein under the direction of H.W. Valk, the building was enlarged and converted into a bicycle shed. The bicycle shed displays elements of medieval castle architecture.
Description
The single-storey building has a rectangular floor plan and a slightly projecting gabled roof on corbels, covered with slate. The walls are constructed of whitewashed brick, with drip moulding in the front facade. On the north side a screen gable with two round corner towers and crenellations. The entrance is formed by a round-arched doorway with a wooden door, above which is a natural stone keystone with a head. Above this entrance a natural stone pelican on a lightly projecting base. In front of the entrance two low curved brick walls. In the towers are narrow slit-like windows.
The east and south facades are provided with round-arched windows with sandstone sills. On the south-eastern corner of the small building a brick drainage gable with stepped profile.
Valuation
