Inleiding
Voormalig WOONHUIS uit 1903 in Neo-Renaissance stijl, gebouwd in opdracht van de lakenfabrikant Andreas J. Lombarts, naar ontwerp van de Tilburgse architect A.J. Blomjous. Het woonhuis is opgenomen in de gevelwand. Het huis heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond met aan de achterkant een uitgebouwde serre.
Omschrijving
De huis heeft twee bouwlagen met een zolderverdieping gedekt door een mansardekap, waarvan de steile dakschilden voorzien zijn van leien en de liggende van een zinken roevendak. De sterk horizontaal en verticaal gelede voorgevel is vier traveeën breed.
Dubbele en enkele lisenen accentueren de traveeën. Twee aan twee zijn de traveeën symmetrisch, aan de bovenkant afgesloten door een rondboogfries. De muuropeningen op de begane grond hebben een rondboog en de andere een segmentboog. Hierin houten kozijnen met schuiframen. De rechtgesloten vensters van de tweede bouwlaag zijn uitgevoerd als pseudo fenêtre à terre met een opengewerkte bakstenen borstwering, die overeenstemt met de balustrade van het balkon. De boogtrommels boven de vensters zijn voorzien van florale motieven. Het linkerdeel van de gevel heeft in het dak een bekroonde topgevel met een obelisk in een gebroken fronton. Het rechterdeel van de gevel heeft op de begane grond een venster en een glazen, niet oorspronkelijke, voordeur. Het bovenlicht en kalf van de voordeur hebben houten draai- en snijwerk met glas-in-lood. De tweede bouwlaag heeft een indeling in drie traveeën, met in het middel een vijfzijdig uitkragend stenen balkon en dubbele balkondeuren en opzij smalle vensters. In het dak twee kapellen bekroond door een gebogen tympaan. In de achtergevel getoogde vensters. De serre, oorspronkelijk een veranda, is van hout. The dwelling house is incorporated into the facade wall. The house has a rectangular floor plan with an enclosed conservatory extension at the rear.
Description
The house has two storeys with an attic storey covered by a mansard roof, the steep roof slopes of which are provided with slate and the level slopes with a zinc glazing bar roof. The strongly horizontally and vertically articulated front facade is four bays wide.
Double and single pilasters accentuate the bays. Two by two the bays are symmetrical, closed at the top by a round arch frieze. The wall openings on the ground floor have a round arch and the others a segmental arch. Wooden windows with sash windows therein. The straight-topped windows of the second storey are executed as pseudo fenêtre à terre with openwork brick breast wall, which corresponds with the balustrade of the balcony. The arch drums above the windows are provided with floral motifs. The left part of the facade has in the roof a crowned gable with an obelisk in a broken pediment. The right part of the facade has on the ground floor a window and a glazed, not original, front door. The fanlight and calf of the front door have wooden revolving and carved work with leadlight. The second storey has a division into three bays, with in the middle a five-sided projecting stone balcony and double balcony doors and narrow windows to the sides. In the roof two dormers crowned by a curved tympanum. In the rear facade arched windows. The conservatory, originally a veranda, is of wood. The interior of the house is largely authentic. The staircase is provided with a skylight and wooden main stairs with riser brackets, hand rail wreaths, turned balusters and stair post. Several doors and windows with carved work, fluted panels and crowned architraves. Hall and passage provided with a white marble floor. In the rooms, hall and passages stucco ceilings with ornamental and moulded work. In the conservatory multicoloured figurative floor tiles.
