Inleiding.
Rooms-katholieke PASTORIE gelegen naast de reeds eerder beschermde rooms-katholieke Lambertuskerk, Slimstraat 9. Gebouwd rond 1850-1860 in Ambachtelijk-traditionele stijl met neoclassicistische motieven. Aan de oostzijde een lagere tweelaagse aanbouw uit circa 1950. Deze laatste en de serre uit circa 1950 behoren niet tot het monument.
Omschrijving.
Tweelaagse PASTORIE, opgetrokken uit baksteen onder schilddak met oud-Hollandse pannen en hoekschoorstenen met verdiepte panelen. De voorgevel telt vijf traveëen en heeft een hardstenen plint. De gevel heeft een middenrisaliet en hoeklisenen en wordt geleed door een hardstenen cordonlijst en afgesloten door een gemetseld fries met kepermotieven en muizetanden onder de lijstgoot. De risaliet heeft een driehoekig bakstenen fronton met driepasvulling. Beneden en boven achtruits schuiframen. Hoofdingang met bordes en hardstenen omlijsting met deklijst op voluten. Paneeldeur en bovenlicht met geometrische indeling. Hangende lantaarn. De linker zijgevel gaat goeddeels schuil achter de aanbouw van circa 1950. De rechter zijgevel heeft op de verdieping een achtruits schuifraam. De achtergevel is geheel vlak, telt vijf vakken en heeft evenals de voorgevel achtruits schuiframen. Tussen pastorie en kerkhof ligt een bakstenen scheidsmuur.
Waardering.
Het gebouw is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als getuigenis van het katholieke zelfbewustzijn en als uitdrukking van de typologische ontwikkeling van kerk, kerkhof en pastoorswoning in het midden van de vorige eeuw. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van de evenwichtige verwerking van ambachtelijk-traditionele en neoclassicistische motieven. Het heeft ensemblewaarden als onderdeel van een groep, tezamen met het afzonderlijk te beschermen klooster, die getuigt van de ontwikkeling van het katholieke bouwen. On the east side a lower two-storey extension from circa 1950. The latter and the conservatory from circa 1950 do not form part of the monument.
Description.
Two-storey PARSONAGE, constructed in brick under a hipped roof with old Dutch tiles and corner chimneys with recessed panels. The front gable comprises five bays and has a stone plinth. The gable has a central risalit and corner pilasters and is articulated by a stone banding course and finished with a brick frieze with basket-weave motifs and dogtooth ornament under the drip moulding. The risalit has a triangular brick pediment with trefoil filling. Below and above eight-light sash windows. Main entrance with steps and stone surround with cornice on volutes. Panelled door and fanlight with geometric glazing. Hanging lantern. The left side gable is largely concealed behind the extension of circa 1950. The right side gable has on the upper storey an eight-light sash window. The rear gable is entirely plain, comprises five bays and has, like the front gable, eight-light sash windows. Between parsonage and churchyard lies a brick boundary wall.
Valuation.
The building is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as testimony to Roman Catholic self-confidence and as an expression of the typological development of church, churchyard and parsonage in the middle of the previous century. It has architectural-historical value as an example of the balanced treatment of craftsman-traditional and neoclassical motifs. It has ensemble values as part of a group, together with the separately protected cloister, which testifies to the development of Roman Catholic building. The whole has been well preserved and is rare as a 'Roman Catholic' group of buildings in austere brick construction.
