Inleiding
Bij het watertorencomplex hoort een klein FILTERGEBOUW in Ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwstijl, die evenals de toren niet meer als zodanig in gebruik is.

Evenwijdig aan de straat staand, vanuit een rechthoekige plattegrond in baksteen opgetrokken pand onder een met gesmoorde bouletpannen gedekt schilddak, waarvan de gootlijsten rusten op houten klampen. De gevelopeningen zijn recht gesloten en hebben een rand van geschulpt loodbeslag op de bovendorpel van de kozijnen en bevatten alle een segmentvormige ontlastingsboog met baksteenmozaïekje in de boogtrommel en een gemetselde onderdorpel.
De zuidelijke, aan de straat staande langsgevel is blind. De kopgevel aan oostzijde bevat een rechtgesloten venster met zesruits raam. De naar de watertoren gerichte langsgevel heeft een symmetrische indeling met in het midden een dubbele paneeldeur onder een segmentboogvormige ontlastingsboog met baksteenmozaïekje in de boogtrommel en aan weerszijden een zesruits venster als die in de oostelijke kopgevel. Een identiek venster bevindt zich in de westelijke kopgevel.
Het inwendige van het filtergebouw bevat nauwelijks monumentale onderdelen en is derhalve voor de bescherming van rijkswege van ondergeschikt belang. De kap is geheel van hout en de vrij diepe kelder bevat nog de twee oorspronkelijke filterinstallaties.
Waardering
Het filtergebouw is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuurhistorische, de architectuurhistorische, de ensemblewaarde en gaafheid:
- vanwege de relatie met de watertoren die een bijzondere uitdrukking is van de geschiedenis van de drinkwatervoorziening in Nederland.

Standing parallel to the street, a brick building erected from a rectangular ground plan under a hipped roof covered with suppressed barrel tiles, the gutter lines of which rest on wooden brackets. The facade openings are right-angled and have a border of shaped lead sheeting on the top lintel of the frames and all contain a segmental relieving arch with brick mosaic in the arch drum and a mortared bottom lintel.
The southern, street-facing longitudinal facade is blank. The gable end on the east side contains a right-angled window with six-pane frame. The longitudinal facade facing the water tower has a symmetrical layout with in the centre a double panel door under a segmental relieving arch with brick mosaic in the arch drum and on either side a six-pane window as in the eastern gable end. An identical window is located in the western gable end.
The interior of the filter building contains scarcely any monumental components and is therefore of secondary importance for national protection. The roof truss structure is entirely of wood and the relatively deep cellar still contains the two original filter installations.
