Inleiding
LANDHUIS "Boekesteijn", hoofdonderdeel van de gelijknamige buitenplaats, dateert in oorsprong uit omstreeks 1770 en is in 1915 verbouwd en uitgebreid met o.a. een forse toren. Het oude gedeelte is opgetrokken in Hollands classicistische trant en de uitbreidingen in een bijpassende stijl.
Omschrijving
Samengesteld pand op onregelmatige rechthoekige plattegrond bestaande uit een symmetrisch opgezet hoofdvolume met aan de zuidzijde een toren. Het gebouw telt boven het souterrain, een hoge bel etage en lagere verdieping onder een afgeknot schilddak met vier hoekschoorstenen. De gevels van het oude huis zijn opgetrokken in bruine baksteen boven het gepleisterde souterrain. De voorgevel van het hoofdvolume telt vijf vensterassen met in de middelste de entreepartij. Een halfronde bordestrap met twee opgangen en een ijzeren trapleuning leidt naar de dubbele paneeldeur met halfrond bovenlicht in een lijst. In het souterrain vierkante vierruitsvensters, op de bel etage hoge tienruits vensters en op de verdieping zesruits vensters, met persiennes.
Waardering
Het landhuis "Boekesteijn" is van algemeen belang vanwege de cultuur- en architectuurhistorische waarde als hoofdonderdeel van de gelijknamige buitenplaats en als representatief en grotendeels gaaf voorbeeld van een landhuis uit het laatste kwart van de 18de eeuw met uitbreidingen uit het eerste kwart van de 20ste eeuw. Het huis heeft tevens situationele waarde vanwege de beeldbepalende ligging aan het Noordeinde binnen het beschermde dorpsgezicht van 's-Graveland.

MANOR HOUSE "Boekesteijn", principal component of the estate of the same name, dates in its origin to around 1770 and was remodelled and enlarged in 1915 with, among other things, a substantial tower. The old section is constructed in Dutch classical manner and the extensions in a matching style.

A composite building on an irregular rectangular plan consisting of a symmetrically arranged main volume with a tower on the south side. The building has, above the basement, a high piano nobile and a lower storey under a truncated hipped roof with four corner chimneys. The facades of the old house are constructed in brown brick above a rendered basement. The front facade of the main volume has five window bays with the entrance in the central one. A semicircular portico with two flights of stairs and an iron stair rail leads to the double panelled door with semicircular fanlight in a frame. In the basement square four-pane windows, on the piano nobile tall ten-pane windows and on the upper storey six-pane windows, with shutters.
Valuation
The manor house "Boekesteijn" is of general importance due to its cultural- and architectural-historical value as the principal component of the estate of the same name and as a representative and largely intact example of a manor house from the last quarter of the 18th century with extensions from the first quarter of the 20th century. The house also has situational value due to its visually prominent location on the Noordeinde within the protected townscape of 's-Graveland.
