Voormalige LIGHAL in de trant het Functionalisme, in 1937 gebouwd bij het 'Koloniehuis voor Jong Nederland', naar ontwerp van de Amsterdamse architecten J.W.F. Hartkamp en G. Arendzen. De lighal voor kinderen die middels kuren hier konden revalideren bood aan 55 kinderen die er op bedden lagen.
Sinds 1982 is de lighal in gebruik als atelierwoning, waartoe enige aanpassingen zijn gepleegd, die echter de constructie en structuur van de lighal niet hebben aangetast. De oorspronkelijke bronzen kozijnen van de vensters zijn verdwenen.
De lighal ligt in de duinen ten noorden van het koloniegebouw Jong Nederland, de situering is georiënteerd op de meest gunstige bezonning.
De lighal van gewapend beton heeft een driekwartcirkelvormige plattegrond met de opening naar het zuidoosten. De rondlopende luifel wordt gedragen door betonnen U-vormige spanten die zowel in het dak als in het fundament verankerd liggen, waardoor de luifel geen ondersteuning behoeft. In de gebogen buitengevel bevinden zich tussen de kolommen brede rechthoekige gevelopeningen, deels gevuld met schuiframen. Aan de binnenzijde twee met glaspuien gesloten ruimten uit de bouwtijd die via een deur toegang geven tot de aan de buitenzijde gelegen zogenaamde dekenkasten.
Waardering
De (voormalige) lighal behorend bij 'Koloniehuis voor Jong Holland' is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde als gaaf bewaard voorbeeld van een in functionalistische stijl ontworpen lighal met een bijzondere betonconstructie. Van ensemble waarde als historisch-functioneel onderdeel, deel uitmakend van het complex 'De koloniehoek'. Van situationele waarde vanwege de ligging in de duinen.

Former REST HALL in the manner of Functionalism, built in 1937 next to the 'Colony House Voor Jong Nederland', after a design by Amsterdam architects J.W.F. Hartkamp and G. Arendzen. The rest hall for children who could recuperate here through treatment accommodated 55 children who lay on beds.
Since 1982 the rest hall has been in use as an artist's dwelling, for which some modifications were made; however, these did not affect the structure of the rest hall. The original bronze window frames have disappeared.
