SPEELZAAL uit 1928, gebouwd naar ontwerp van P. Vorkink als overdekte speelgelegenheid voor de kinderen. Het gebouwtje staat noordoostelijk van het koloniegebouw.
N.B. De uitbreiding aan de noordzijde uit 1969 is van ondergeschikt belang.
Omschrijving
De speelzaal telt één bouwlaag en is in bruine baksteen opgetrokken vanuit een L-vormige plattegrond onder met rode Hollandse pannen belegd samengesteld dak met aan de zuidzijde een schilddak en aan de westzijde een bouwdeel met zadeldak. De eindgevel (W) die aansluit op het door een zadeldak gedekte bouwdeel, bevat enkel een portiek. In de zuidzijde komt een 4x3-ruits schuifraam voor. De westgevel van het door het schilddak gedekte bouwdeel bevat een breed samengesteld kozijn met vijf vensters waaronder een deur. De stijlen van het kozijn zijn zodanig uitgevoerd dat de 4x3-ruits ramen geheel naar beneden te schuiven zijn zodat een brede opening ontstaat voor de toetreding van de gezonde zeelucht. In de naar de weg gekeerde eindgevel (Z) is een deur aanwezig en rechts daarvan een tweeruits venster.
Waardering
De uit 1928 daterende speelzaal, behorend bij het koloniehuis van de Deutsche Hilfsverein, is van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuur-, cultuurhistorische en ensemblewaarde als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het complex 'de koloniehoek' en vanwege de bijzondere op de functie gerichte typologie.

Description
The play hall comprises one storey and is constructed in brown brickwork from an L-shaped floor plan, covered with a composed roof with red Dutch tiles, with a hipped roof on the south side and a building part with a gabled roof on the west side. The end facade (W) adjoining the building part covered by a gabled roof contains only a porch. On the south side there is a 4x3-pane sash window. The west facade of the building part covered by the hipped roof contains a broad composite frame with five windows including a door. The stiles of the frame are executed in such a way that the 4x3-pane windows slide completely downward, creating a wide opening for the admission of healthy sea air. In the end facade (S) facing the road there is a door and to its right a two-pane window.
Valuation
The play hall dating from 1928, belonging to the colony house of the Deutsche Hilfsverein, is of general importance on account of its architectural, cultural-historical and ensemble value as a historically-functional component of the complex 'de koloniehoek' and on account of the distinctive typology designed for its function.
