Inleiding
Twee HEKPIJLERS, deel uitmakend van het complex landgoed Duin en Kruidberg De in classicistische stijl uitgevoerde pijlers, die vermoedelijk dateren uit het eerste kwart van de 20ste eeuw, staan aan de westzijde van het huidige parkeerterrein dat zich bevindt ten westen van de moestuin, en flankeren de toegang tot het vroeger bij Duin en Kruidberg horende duingebied. Oorspronkelijk hadden de pijlers een pompoenachtige bekroning.
Omschrijving
Twee identieke zandstenen hekpijlers met een vierkante dwarsdoorsnede waarvan de hoeken zijn uitgespaard. De pijlers zijn opgebouwd uit gefrijnde blokken en worden afgedekt door een geprofileerde deksteen. In de voorzijde van de dekstenen is de naam van het landgoed uitgehouwen: links "DUIN = EN" en rechts "KRUIDBERG".

Introduction
Two GATE PIERS, forming part of the estate complex Duin en Kruidberg. The piers, executed in Classical style and probably dating from the first quarter of the 20th century, stand on the west side of the current car park which is located to the west of the kitchen garden, and flank the access to the dune area which formerly belonged to Duin en Kruidberg. Originally the piers had a pumpkin-like crown.
Description
Two identical sandstone gate piers with a square cross-section of which the corners are recessed. The piers are built up from tooled blocks and are topped by a moulded coping stone. In the front of the coping stones the name of the estate is carved: on the left "DUIN = EN" and on the right "KRUIDBERG".

The two gate piers are of general importance as historical-functional components of the estate complex Duin en Kruidberg;
