Omschrijving
Inleiding
Vrijstaand POMPGEBOUW en KETELHUIS voor de drinkwatervoorziening gebouwd in 1896. De toegepaste bouwstijl is traditionalistisch.
Oorspronkelijk bestond het gebouw uit twee vrijstaande gebouwen in elkaars verlengde. In de jaren vijftig van de 20ste eeuw werd een tussenbouw gerealiseerd waardoor het pomphuis werd verbonden met het ketelhuis.
Omschrijving
Het pompstation is een langwerpig rechthoekig gebouw in een bouwlaag onder een zadeldak gedekt met zwarte betonpannen.
De VOORGEVEL is vrijwel symmetrisch ingedeeld. Het linkergeveldeel met het pompgebouw telt vijf traveeën. De na-oorlogse tussenbouw telt twee traveeën. Het rechtervoorgeveldeel met ketelhuis telt eveneens vijf traveeën.
Geveltraveeën gescheiden door lisenen. Segmentboogvormige stalen vensters met hardstenen dorpelstenen.
Verbrede plint met hardstenen hoeksteentjes. In het linkergeveldeel een authentieke rechthoekige houten deur met segmentboogvormig bovenlicht. In het rechterfrontgeveldeel een authentieke rechthoekige houten deur in een segmentboogvormige omlijsting. Vensters en deuren met gebogen strek met hardstenen sluitsteen. Het middenvoorgeveldeel met twee vensterkozijnen van omstreeks 1950. Vensterkozijnen met segmentboog met hardstenen sluitsteen. Spaarvelden tussen de traveeën met aan de bovenzijde muizetand.
RECHTERZIJGEVEL met in eerste bouwlaag rechthoekige poort van omstreeks 1990 met kunststof pui. Aan weerszijden van deze poort een segmentboogvormig vensterkozijn met hardstenen dorpelsteen en sluitsteen. In de topgevel rechterzijgevel een rond stalen venster met aanzet- en sluitstenen. Langs de topgevelrand decoratief metselwerk.
Kopgevel LINKERZIJGEVEL met in het rechtergeveldeel een rechthoekige houten deur. Tegen het linkergeveldeel een aanbouw in een bouwlaag met plat dak. Deze aanbouw is uitgesloten van bescherming. Linkerzijgevel uitlopend in een topgevel met hierin decoratief metselwerk en drie smalle rechthoekige vensters met doorlopende latei.
ACHTERGEVEL ketelhuisgedeelte telde oorspronkelijk vijf venstertraveeën waarvan het venster in de middelste travee is dichtgezet. Overige vensters en gevelindeling identiek aan frontgevel. Achtergevel tussenbouw telt twee venstertraveeën.
Achtergevel pompgebouw telt vijf venstertraveeën. In de achtergevel bevinden zich geen deuren.
Van het INTERIEUR is onder meer het volgende van belang. In het pompgebouw de oorspronkelijke waterpompinstallatie; de lage houten lambrisering en stenen plint; stalen dakspanten met in ruitmotief aangebrachte delen van het dakbeschot. In de naoorlogse tussenbouw worden de zijwanden gevormd door de oorspronkelijke buitengevel van het pompgebouw en het ketelhuis.
Deze gevels zijn grotendeels in tact.
Waardering
Het pompstation bezit cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een technische en typologische ontwikkeling. Het gebouw is industrieel-historisch van belang vanwege zijn functie in de vroeg-industriële watervoorziening voor de streek. Het gebouw bezit in redelijke mate architectuurhistorische waarde wegens het bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek. Het gebouw is tenslotte van algemeen belang wegens de redelijke mate van achitectonische gaafheid van het exterieur en een deel van het interieur en de typologische en functionele zeldzaamheid.

Freestanding PUMP BUILDING and BOILER HOUSE for drinking water supply built in 1896. The applied building style is traditionalist.
Originally the building consisted of two freestanding buildings in line with each other. In the nineteen-fifties of the 20th century a connecting structure was realised whereby the pump house was connected with the boiler house.
Description
The pump station is an elongated rectangular building in one storey beneath a gabled roof covered with black concrete tiles.
The FRONT FACADE is laid out in virtually symmetrical fashion. The left facade section with the pump building comprises five bays. The post-war connecting structure comprises two bays. The right front facade section with boiler house also comprises five bays.
Facade bays separated by pilaster strips. Segmental arch-shaped steel windows with sandstone threshold stones.
Widened plinth with sandstone corner stones. In the left facade section an authentic rectangular wooden door with segmental arch-shaped fanlight. In the right front facade section an authentic rectangular wooden door in a segmental arch-shaped surround. Windows and doors with curved reveal with sandstone keystone. The middle front facade section with two window frames from circa 1950. Window frames with segmental arch with sandstone keystone. Spandrels between the bays with at the upper edge mouse-tooth pattern.
RIGHT SIDE FACADE with in the first storey a rectangular gateway of circa 1990 with plastic frame. On either side of this gateway a segmental arch-shaped window frame with sandstone threshold stone and keystone. In the gable section right side facade a round steel window with abutment and keystone stones. Along the gable edge decorative brickwork.
End gable LEFT SIDE FACADE with in the right facade section a rectangular wooden door. Against the left facade section an extension in one storey with flat roof. This extension is excluded from protection. Left side facade continuing in a gable section with therein decorative brickwork and three narrow rectangular windows with continuous lintel.
REAR FACADE boiler house section originally comprised five window bays of which the window in the middle bay is infilled. Other windows and facade division identical to front facade. Rear facade of connecting structure comprises two window bays.
Rear facade of pump building comprises five window bays. In the rear facade are no doors.
Of the INTERIOR the following is among other things of importance. In the pump building the original water pump installation; the low wooden wainscot and stone plinth; steel roof trusses with lattice-patterned sections of the roof covering. In the post-war connecting structure the side walls are formed by the original outer facade of the pump building and the boiler house.
These facades are largely intact.
Valuation
The pump station possesses cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a technical and typological development. The building is of industrial-historical importance because of its function in the early-industrial water supply for the region.
