Inleiding
De voormalige GARAGE met BOVENWONING is gelegen in de gesloten straatwand aan de Neerstraat in Roermond. Het pand is gebouwd in 1906 in Traditionele stijl met invoeden van Jugenstil naar ontwerp van architect F. Dupont uit Roermond. De vormentaal van de details, zoals drie bollen aan dunne lijnen in de plint, is kenmerkend voor architect Dupont. Het pand is gebouwd als garage-woonhuis voor het destijds naastliggende hotel Lion d'Or.
Het hotelpand is nog steeds aanwezig, maar heeft een andere funktie gekregen. Het bedrijfgedeelte van het woonhuis-bedrijf wordt momenteel gebruikt door Zeilmakerij Bell.
UITGESLOTEN van BESCHERMING zijn de achtergelegen stalruimten.
Omschrijving
Het WOONHUIS-BEDRIJF heeft een hoofdzakelijk L-vormige plattegrond in drie bouwlagen onder een getopt zadeldak met shingles. Het pand heeft een opstand in twee kleuren rode baksteen in kruisverband met een hardstenen plint, speklagen en cordonlijsten. In de gevel bevinden zich rechthoekige houten kozijnen met bovenlicht met roedeverdeling in segmentbooglijst met aanzet- en sluitsteen en vulstuk. Hardstenen dorpel.
De VOORGEVEL is asymmetrisch van opbouw en bestaat uit twee traveeën. De eerste bouwlaag heeft een hardstenen plint met uitgehouwen reliëf in hoefijzervorm, een keldervenster.
In de linkertravee bevindt zich een dubbele houten poort met vensters met aan weerszijden een stootsteen. In de rechtertravee een originele houten paneeldeur met gekleurd glas-in-lood.
Rechts hiervan een venster met gekleurd glas-in-lood met bloemmotief achter een smeedijzeren hekwerk en boven een brede hardstenen dorpel. Boven deur en venster bevindt zich een breed flessenhalsvormig bovenlicht met figuurglas en rechte en gebogen roedes. Hardsteen consoles in refliëf met bogen, bollen en hoofden, ondersteunen stalen lateien en twee stalen kolommen ten behoeve van de erker. De linker travee heeft in de tweede bouwlaag een gestuct paneel met geheel links, een hardsteen leeuwenkop onder twee dubbele vensters met geel figuurglas in de bovenlichten. In de derde laag bevinden zich in de borstwering twee panelen met vlechtingen onder een driedelig kozijn met bovenlicht zonder roedeverdeling. Geheel links in de tweede en derde bouwlaag bevindt zich een liseen. Het gevelvlak van de linker travee wordt beëindigd door hardstenen consoles, waartussen vulstuk met vlechtingen, onder een houten bakgoot.
Dakschild met halfrond dakraam. De rechter travee heeft in de tweede laag een houten, driezijdige erker met panelen en twee enkele en een dubbel venster met bovenlicht in segmentbooglijst.
Boven de erker bevindt zich een balkon met smeedijzeren hekwerk met gebogen spijlen tussen vier houten kolommen, die een afdakje ondersteunen. Tussen de kolommen ronde houten bogen, waarboven een uitwaaierende roedeverdeling met figuurglas, onder een bovenlicht met haakse roedeverderling met geel figuurglas. Verder dubbele balkondeuren met bovenlichten.
Boven het prieel is een tweede balkon met een smeedijzeren hekwerk met gebogen vormen. Het rechter travee loopt uit in een ronde topgevel met aan weerszijden een leeuwenkop, In het gevelvlak schuin gemetselde baksteen aan weerszijden van een deur met bovenlicht.

Boven het platte dak van de achterbouw bevindt zich in de achtergevel een venster ten behoeve van het trappenhuis. Het achterdakvlak heeft Muldenpannen en een klein dakraam.
De STRUCTUUR van het INTERIEUR is in hoge mate in tact.
WAARDEVOLLE INTERIEURONDERDELEN zijn onder andere de originele trappenhuizen met slangenkopleuningen en de plafondornamenten.

The DWELLING-BUSINESS BUILDING has a mainly L-shaped floor plan in three storeys under a topped gabled roof with shingles. The building has a facade in two colours of red brick in Flemish bond with a sandstone plinth, courses of contrasting stone and cornice bands. The facade contains rectangular wooden windows with fanlights with glazing bars in segmental arched moulding with arch stones and filler. Sandstone sill.
The FRONT FACADE is asymmetrical in composition and consists of two bays. The ground storey has a sandstone plinth with carved relief in horseshoe form, a basement window.
In the left bay there is a double wooden door with windows with a quoin stone on either side. In the right bay an original wooden panelled door with coloured stained glass.
