Inleiding
De DUBBELE WINKEL met BOVENWONING is gelegen in de gesloten straatwand van de Neerstraat in Roermond. Het pand is gebouwd in XIXd, de voorgevel is vernieuwd in 1911 in Eclecticisme met Jugendstil elementen in opdracht van loodgietersbedrijf Frans Janssens Höppener, naar ontwerp van architect F. Dupont uit Roermond. Het pand heeft nu diverse tinten blauw, maar was oorspronkelijk uitgevoerd in een zachte zandkleur. Het reliëf in de voorgevel is van beeldhouwer Mathieu Reynders, gemaakt in werkplaats van Cuypers en Stolzenberg. Tegen de achterzijde van het pand staat een achterhuis met versprongen verdiepingen. De begane grond is momenteel in gebruik als dierenwinkel en antiekhandel.
Omschrijving
Het pand heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond in twee bouwlagen, gedeeltelijk onder een schilddak met leien. De gepleisterde gevel, in de tweede laag in rustica, heeft een gebeeldhouwde hardstenen plint. In de gevel bevinden zich originele houten paneeldeuren en vensters met bovenlichten, gedeeltelijk met geslepen glas. In de tweede laag bevinden zich dubbele vensters met bovenlicht en decoratief waterscherm, dat wordt omlijst door gestucte band met gekrulde vormen.
De VOORGEVEL is asymmetrisch van opbouw en heeft in de eerste laag drie bogen met geprofileerde lijst met gestucte aanzet- en sluitsteen met bloemmotief en gekrulde vormen. Geheel links in de laagste boog bevindt zich een originele houten paneeldeur waarop een leeuwenkop met ring en een zesruits venster. Deur en venster hebben rechthoekige bovenlichten, waarboven een rondboog bovenlicht allen met roedeverdeling. In de middelste boog, deze is het breedst en centraal gelegen, bevindt zich een groot etalagevensters op lage plint met rechts een niet originele deur met rechthoekig bovenlicht. Boven deur en venster is een groot driedelig bovenlicht, waarvan de twee kleine spitboogvormige vensters met rechthoekige roedeverdeling en het middelste met gebogen roedes. De rechterboog heeft een driedelige houten deur met rondboogvormig driedelig bovenlicht met rechthoekige roedeverdeling. Tussen de bogen loopt een gepleisterde speklaag.
Links in de tweede laag bevindt zich een rechthoekige erker met een geprofileerd gewelf, dat begint vanaf de sluitsteen van de ondergelegen boog. In de borstwering van de erker aan drie zijden panelen, waarboven aan elke zijde een venster. De erker loopt naar boven toe breder uit en wordt beëindigd door een gewelfd dak.
In de top bevindt zich een door stucwerk omlijst rondvenster.
Rechts naast de erker is een lijst met de gestucte tekst "Frans Janssens Höppener" tussen twee cordonlijsten. Aan weerszijden van de tekst vijf gestucte bloemen. Verder bevinden zich in de tweede laag drie vensters, waarvan de twee rechter gescheiden door een gestuct relëf van een godin met vlam en tak, geplaatst tussen gestucte pilasters en onder een risaliet met gestuct veld met jaartal "1911". Links van de afbeelding ondersteunen gestucte consoles de houten goot. Hierachter begint het schilddak en de dakkapel met dubbel venster tussen geprofileerde stijlen onder een gewelfd dakje.
De ACHTERGEVEL van het pand heeft een opstand van baksteen in kruisverband.
De STRUCTUUR van het INTERIEUR is in tact.
WAARDEVOLLE INTERIEURONDERDELEN zijn de originele haard, de gestucte ornamenten in de hallen en kamers, de originele trappenhuizen en de gestucte hoofdgestellen met beeldennis.

Introduction
The DOUBLE SHOP with UPPER RESIDENCE is situated in the closed street frontage of Neerstraat in Roermond. The building was built in the nineteenth century, the front facade was renewed in 1911 in Eclecticism with Art Nouveau elements on behalf of plumbing firm Frans Janssens Höppener, designed by architect F. Dupont from Roermond. The building now has various shades of blue, but was originally executed in a soft sand colour. The relief in the front facade is by sculptor Mathieu Reynders, made in the workshop of Cuypers and Stolzenberg. Against the rear of the building stands a rear house with staggered storeys. The ground floor is currently in use as a pet shop and antique dealer.

The building has a rectangular floor plan in two storeys, partly under a hipped roof with slate. The plastered facade, rustica in the second storey, has a carved ashlar plinth. The facade contains original wooden panelled doors and windows with fanlights, partly with glazed glass. In the second storey are double windows with fanlight and decorative water screen, which is framed by stuccoed band with curled forms.
The FRONT FACADE is asymmetrical in composition and has in the first storey three arches with moulded frame with stuccoed jamb and quoin stones with floral motif and curled forms. Far left in the lowest arch is an original wooden panelled door with a lion head with ring and a six-paned window. Door and window have rectangular fanlights, above which a round arch fanlight all with glazing bars. In the central arch, this being the widest and centrally located, is a large shop window on low plinth with a non-original door on the right with rectangular fanlight. Above door and window is a large three-part fanlight, of which the two small pointed arch windows have rectangular glazing bars and the central one with curved bars. The right arch has a three-part wooden door with round arch three-part fanlight with rectangular glazing bars. Between the arches runs a plastered speckled course.
On the left in the second storey is a rectangular oriel with a moulded vault, which begins from the quoin stone of the arch below. In the parapet of the oriel on three sides panels, above each side a window. The oriel extends wider as it rises and is terminated by a vaulted roof.
At the top is a round window framed by stuccowork.
To the right of the oriel is a frame with the stuccoed text "Frans Janssens Höppener" between two string courses. On either side of the text five stuccoed flowers. Furthermore in the second storey are three windows, of which the two right separated by a stuccoed relief of a goddess with flame and branch, placed between stuccoed pilasters and under a risalit with stuccoed field with date "1911".
