Complex Koestraat 35-41 Oirschot (3): Aan de oostelijke zijde van de kloosterkapel staat een aangrenzende TRAPPENHAL, die deel uitmaakte van het omstreeks 1990 verbouwde, buiten de rijksbescherming vallende, voormalige internaat. Het trappenhuis dateert uit de periode 1907-'10.
Omschrijving: De drielaags trappenhal heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en wordt gedekt door een steil schilddak met pirons. De bakstenen gevel is aan de (zuidelijke) straatzijde doorbroken met vier rechthoekige vensters op de begane grond, drie rondboogvensters op de etage, en drie hogere rondboogvensters op de tweede etage. De vensters hebben hardstenen dorpels. De trappen zijn evenals de trappen in de rest van het klooster uitgevoerd in petit granit.
Waardering: Het trappenhuis is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een geestelijke ontwikkeling, namelijk de bloei van orden en congregaties in de vroege twintigste eeuw en is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van het congregatieklooster annex internaat kort na 1900. Het is architectuurhistorisch van belang vanwege de stijl, waarmee de architecten Cuypers en Stuyt door materiaalgebruik en ornamentiek een breuk bewerkstelligden met de traditionele katholieke gestichtsstijl. Complex Koestraat 35-41 Oirschot (3): On the eastern side of the convent chapel stands an adjacent STAIRCASE HALL, which formed part of the circa 1990 renovated property, falling outside national monument protection, former boarding school. The staircase hall dates from the period 1907-'10.
Description: The three-storey staircase hall has a rectangular plan and is covered by a steep hipped roof with cross-finials. The brick facade on the (southern) street side is broken through with four rectangular windows on the ground floor, three round-arch windows on the first floor, and three taller round-arch windows on the second floor. The windows have sandstone thresholds. The staircases are, like the stairs elsewhere in the convent, executed in petit granit.
Valuation: The staircase hall is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as an example of a spiritual development, namely the flourishing of religious orders and congregations in the early twentieth century and is also of importance as an example of the typological development of the congregation convent combined with boarding school shortly after 1900.
