Inleiding.
MUUR met daarin het aan de Nieuwe Bouwlingstraat gelegen TOEGANGSHEK tussen HEKPIJLERS, gerealiseerd in opdracht van de Nederlands hervormde gemeente aan het einde van de negentiende eeuw en uitgevoerd in Neo-Renaissance stijl.
Omschrijving.
De in kruisverband gemetselde schansmuur aan de Nieuwe Bouwlingstraat is geleed door lisenen en afgesloten met natuurstenen dekplaten. Overige muren geleed door lisenen die aan de bovenzijde middels tandlijsten met elkaar verbonden zijn en afgesloten met een bakstenen ezelsrug. Symmetrisch smeedijzeren tweevleugelig hek met puntspijlen tussen bakstenen hoekpijlers voorzien van gestucte basementen, uitspringend siermetselwerk en afgesloten met dekplaten waarop siervazen.
Waardering.
De muur met toegangshek en hekpijlers is van algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling in de grafcultuur van de Nederlands Hervormde Kerk in de tweede helft van de negentiende eeuw. Het object bezit architectuurhistorische waarde wegens de esthetische kwaliteit en de detaillering. Het object heeft tesamen met de grafmonumenten op de begraafplaats ensemblewaarde als onderdeel van een klein, historisch gegroeid religieus ensemble aan de Nieuwe Bouwlingstraat. Het object is van belang wegens de gaafheid.

WALL with the ACCESS GATE located at Nieuwe Bouwlingstraat between GATE PIERS, realised on behalf of the Dutch Reformed congregation at the end of the nineteenth century and executed in Neo-Renaissance style.
Description.
The crossing-bond masonry scarp wall at Nieuwe Bouwlingstraat is articulated by pilasters and terminated with natural stone coping stones. Other walls articulated by pilasters which are connected at the top by means of dentil courses and terminated with a brick saddle back. Symmetrical wrought-iron two-leaf gate with pointed spears between brick corner piers furnished with stucco bases, projecting decorative brickwork and terminated with coping stones on which ornamental vases are placed.
Valuation.
The wall with access gate and gate piers is of general importance. The structure has cultural-historical value as a distinctive expression of the development of burial culture in the Dutch Reformed Church in the second half of the nineteenth century. The structure possesses architectural-historical value due to the aesthetic quality and detailing. The structure has, together with the grave monuments in the cemetery, ensemble value as part of a small, historically developed religious ensemble at Nieuwe Bouwlingstraat.
