Inleiding
Aan de westzijde van de poort van de R.K. begraafplaats van Oirschot staat het GRAFTEKEN van J. van Turing van Ferrier. Het graf dateert uit omstreeks 1902. Het graf is neo-gotisch gedetailleerd.
Omschrijving
Het graf bestaat uit een hoge hardstenen tombe met aan de zijkanten en op de dekplaat verschillende ingelegde messing grafplaten.
Boven een getrapte sokkel verheft zich de eigenlijke tombe. Voor-, achter- en zijkanten hebben een architectonische geleding met hoekkolommen, waarin in hoogreliëf telkens twee driepaslancetten met bekronende driepas. Tussen de kolommen zijn driepasblindnissen geplaatst, waarin telkens één messing gegraveerde grafplaat. In deze nissen staat de stamboom van de overledenen opgetekend: "Andrew Turijn A.D. 1316 / John Turing 1430-1497 / mar. Janet de Han / William Turing 1555 mar. Janet Leslir / John Turing 1650 mar. Janet Straton / Walter Turing mar. Anna Ogilnir / John Turing Ferrier 1829-1878 mar. Adriana Jonas / Diligentia Ditat". De hardstenen dekplaat is opgebouwd naar middeleeuws model met een in messing gegraveerde randspreuk (Latijnse bijbelteksten in gotisch schrift) en vier messing evangelistensymbolen (vierpassen met een ingesneden vierkant) in de hoeken. Aan de langszijden zijn halverwege de spreuk twee kwartierwapens ingevoegd, in dezelfde vorm en materiaal als de evangelistensymbolen. De dekplaat heeft een hardstenen hoogreliëf een messing wapenschild met het familiewapen. De omringende florale motieven, de bekronende helm en de banderol met de wapenspreuk: "Diligentia ditat" zijn in hardsteen uitgevoerd. Op de dekplaat de inscriptie: "Remember in your prayers / the right honourable mr. John Turing van Ferrier / late Chamberlain of H.M. the King of Wurtemberg / Seineur of Oirschot and Best / Born at Oirschot the 13th of Sept. 1821 / and deceased there the 13th of Aug. 1902 at his castle Bijsterveld".

Above a stepped plinth rises the actual tomb. Front, back and side surfaces have an architectural articulation with corner columns, in which in high relief are each two three-lobed lancets with crowning three-lobes. Between the columns are three-lobed blind niches are placed, in which each one engraved brass grave plate. In these niches the genealogy of the deceased is recorded: "Andrew Turijn A.D. 1316 / John Turing 1430-1497 / mar. Janet de Han / William Turing 1555 mar. Janet Leslir / John Turing 1650 mar. The sandstone top slab is built after a medieval model with an engraved marginal inscription in brass (Latin biblical texts in gothic script) and four brass evangelist symbols (quattrefoils with an incised square) in the corners. The top slab has in high relief a sandstone a brass coat of arms with the family coat of arms.
