Inleiding
Aan de oostelijke zijde van de poort van de R.K. begraafplaats van Oirschot staat het GRAFTEKEN van Mr. A.J.L. van Laar, uit omstreeks 1868.
Omschrijving
De hardstenen tombe heeft hoekkolommen en een overstekende dekplaat met in hoogreliëf een door plantenranken omgeven wapenschild met het familiewapen, en een afbeelding van de geblinddoekte Vrouwe Justitia, eveneens omgeven door florale motieven (lelietakken, eikenblad).
Op de dekplaat van de tombe staat langs de rand de inscriptie: "Ik heb Uw gerechtigheid bemind en Uwe wet o Heer had ik boven alles lief". Op de dekplaat de inscriptie: "Ter gedachtenis van / Mr. A.J.L. van Laar geb. te Oirschot / aldaar overleden den 26 januari 1889 / s.s.t.t. / en / Vrouwe M.L.J. van Hees geboren / te Maastricht / en overleden te Oirschot / den 22 januari 1868 / R.I.P.".

The stone tomb has corner columns and an overhanging cover plate with, in high relief, a coat of arms surrounded by plant tendrils with the family arms, and an image of the blindfolded Lady Justice, likewise surrounded by floral motifs (lily branches, oak leaf).
On the cover plate of the tomb, along the edge, is the inscription: "I have loved Thy righteousness and Thy law O Lord I cherished above all else". On the cover plate the inscription: "In memory of / Mr. A.J.L. van Laar born in Oirschot / died there on 26 January 1889 / s.s.t.t. / and / Lady M.L.J. van Hees born / in Maastricht / and died in Oirschot / on 22 January 1868 / R.I.P.".
