Inleiding
Centraal op de door beukenhaag en muren omgeven R.K. begraafplaats van Oirschot staat, in de as van het middenpad, een bakstenen BAARHUIS met neo-gotische stijlelementen, met een op de zuidelijke gevel geplaatste CALVARIEGROEP uit omstreeks 1880-'90.
Omschrijving
Het eenlaags baarhuisje heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en wordt gedekt door een zadeldak met tuile-du-nord pannen. Op de zuidelijke gevel na betreft het een eenvoudig handvorm bakstenen gebouwtje, met vierruits ijzeren rondlichten in de zijgevels en een getoogde, opgeklampte inrijpoort in de noordelijke gevel. Een hardstenen zerk (P. van de Oudenhoyen, 1948) fungeert als stoep.
De zuidelijke gevel is breder en hoger dan de overige gevels en heeft hoekpijlers en een zware, op gemetselde consoles rustende, nokruiter die als basement dienen voor de bekronende calvariegroep. De beelden zijn uitgevoerd in zandsteen en aan de voet van het houten kruis liggen twee schedels. De korfboognis in de zuidelijke gevel is, op een vervaagde, omstreeks 1925 door de Oirschotse kunstenaar J. Kruijsen op spaanplaat geschilderde Bewening na, leeg. Van belang zijn de drie achter het baarhuis geplante linden. Deze dateren uit dezelfde periode (omstreeks 1880-'90) en hebben een stamomvang van ruim twee meter.

Central to the R.K. cemetery of Oirschot, surrounded by beech hedge and walls, standing in the axis of the central path, is a brick MORTUARY CHAPEL with neo-gothic style elements, with a CALVARY GROUP placed on the southern facade dating from around 1880-'90.
Description
The single-storey mortuary chapel has a rectangular floor plan and is covered by a gabled roof with tuile-du-nord tiles. Apart from the southern facade, it is a simple handmade brick building, with four-pane iron roundels in the side facades and a basket-arched, clasped entrance gate in the northern facade. A sandstone gravestone (P. van de Oudenhoyen, 1948) serves as a step.
The southern facade is broader and taller than the other facades and has corner pilasters and a heavy stone cornice resting on moulded corbels, which serve as a base for the crowning Calvary group. The figures are executed in sandstone and at the foot of the wooden cross lie two skulls. The basket-arch niche in the southern facade is, apart from a faded Lamentation painted around 1925 by Oirschot artist J. Kruijsen on hardboard, empty. Of importance are the three linden trees planted behind the mortuary chapel. These date from the same period (around 1880-'90) and have a stem circumference of over two metres.
