Inleiding:
Deze voormalige KELDER (H) met restanten van een hierop gelegen KOEPEL bevindt zich op ca 150 meter afstand van het huis ten noordwesten van de westelijke oprijlaan. De kelder en koepel zijn waarschijnlijk ten tijde van de werkzaamheden van J.P. Posth, ca. 1798 en later, tot stand gekomen hoewel de WATERKELDER mogelijk reeds uit de bouwtijd van het huis dateert.
Omschrijving:
De kelder betreft naar alle waarschijnlijkheid een waterkelder en bestaat uit een kunstmatig opgeworpen dan wel uitgegraven heuvel die gelegen is in het parkbos ten noord-westen van de westelijke oprijlaan. De bovenzijde van de heuvel fungeerde oorspronkelijk als uitzichtspunt en werd dan ook bekroond door een koepel. Van deze koepel resteren nog slechts de funderingen, een bakstenen trap en een aantal natuurstenen kolommen.
Waardering
Voormalige waterkelder met restanten van een koepel.
Stedenbouwkundige waarden:
- De waterkelder met de hierop gelegen restanten van een tuinkoepel hebben een ensemblewaarde als onderdeel van de buitenplaats Rhederoord. De waterkelder en koepel vormen in historisch perspectief een functioneel onderdeel van het landgoed en zijn als zodanig hiermee onlosmakelijk verbonden.
Cultuurhistorische waarden:
- De waterkelder is van typologisch belang.

Introduction:
This former CELLAR (H) with remains of a CUPOLA situated upon it is located approximately 150 metres from the house to the north-west of the western drive. The cellar and cupola were probably created during the work of J.P. Posth, circa 1798 and later, although the ICE HOUSE may date from the time of construction of the house itself.
Description:
The cellar is in all probability an ice house and consists of an artificially raised or excavated mound situated in the parkland forest to the north-west of the western drive. The top of the mound originally served as a viewpoint and was therefore crowned by a cupola. Of this cupola only the foundations, a brick staircase and a number of stone columns now remain.
