Inleiding.
WATERPOMP uit de tweede helft van de 19de eeuw. De pomp vertoont een Ambachtelijk-Traditionele stijl bevindt zich midden in de dorpskom. In 1950 werd de eerste waterleiding gelegd in het dorp. Tot die tijd was deze dorpspomp, samen met twee andere aan de St. Bavostraat de enige openbare mogelijkheid om water te tappen. Verder was het dorp aangewezen op privé waterputten en open water.
Omschrijving.
De hardstenen waterpomp heeft een vierkant geprofileerd basement en overkragend pomphuis met tuit en een piramidale bekroning met op de top het gemeentewapen van Rijsbergen. Het pomphuis is omspannen door drie bronzen knelbanden. Onderdelen van het mechanisme van de pomp zijn uitgevoerd in geel koper. De pomp is als zodanig niet meer in gebruik.
Waardering.
De waterpomp is van algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als herinnering aan het eerste begin van de openbare nutsvoorzieningen in de 19de eeuw en is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van de openbare waterpompen. Het heeft architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de stijl en detaillering. Het object is gaaf bewaard gebleven en betrekkelijk zeldzaam.

Description
Introduction.
WATER PUMP from the second half of the 19th century. The pump exhibits a Craftsman-Traditional style and is situated in the middle of the village centre. In 1950 the first water pipe was laid in the village. Until that time this village pump, together with two others on the St. Bavostraat, was the only public facility to draw water. Furthermore the village was dependent on private water wells and open water.
Description.
The sandstone water pump has a square moulded basement and an overhanging pump house with spout and a pyramidal crowning with the municipal coat of arms of Rijsbergen on top. The pump house is spanned by three bronze tension bands. Components of the pump mechanism are executed in yellow copper. The pump is no longer in use as such.
Valuation.
The water pump is of general importance. The object has cultural-historical value as a reminder of the first beginning of public utilities in the 19th century and is also of significance for the typological development of public water pumps. It has architectural-historical significance on account of the style and detailing. The object has been preserved in good condition and is relatively rare.
