Inleiding
In het naar ontwerp van Leonard Springer tussen ca. 1908 en 1918 aangelegde park bij het voormalige landhuis De Groote Slink staat, in het zuidoostelijke deel van het park, een sobere cementstenen MEMORIEPLAAT, daterende uit omstreeks 1910. Het monument herinnert aan de executieplaats van de voormalige hoge heerlijkheid Oploo en staat op een kunstmatig opgeworpen, in plattegrond cirkelvormig heuveltje aan de westelijke zijde van een wandelpad, voerende langs een in oppervlakte klein restant van de oude plaatselijke heidegron- den met oude, bij de aanleg van het park gespaarde vliegden- nen.
Omschrijving
De cementstenen, deels in de grond ingegraven memorieplaat heeft een hoogte van ongeveer een meter en een dikte van ca.
10 centimeter. Aan de westelijke zijde is de plaat voorzien van een eenvoudige inscriptie "Jusitie - plaats / Van de hoogere vrije Heerlijkheid / Oploo. / Anno 1550 / 1790."
Waardering
De memorieplaat heeft algemeen belang. Het object heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een culturele, geografische en landschappelijke ontwikkeling, namelijk de ontginning van de Peel door particulieren in der periode kort na 1900. Het is van belang voor de geschiedenis van de architectuur en de tuinkunst. Het heeft ensemblewaarden wegens de situering, verbonden met de ontwikkeling van de Peel na 1900 en is van bijzondere betekenis wegens de relatie met groenvoorzieningen, wegen, wateren en bodemgesteldheid.

Introduction
In the park laid out to the design of Leonard Springer between approximately 1908 and 1918 at the former country house De Groote Slink stands, in the south-eastern part of the park, a sober cement-stone MEMORIAL PLAQUE, dating from around 1910. The monument commemorates the execution site of the former high seigneurie Oploo and stands on an artificially raised, circular mound on the western side of a walking path, running along a small remaining part of the old local heathlands with old flying dunes preserved at the time of laying out the park.
Description
The cement-stone plaque, partly sunk into the ground, has a height of approximately one metre and a thickness of approximately 10 centimetres. On the western side the plaque is provided with a simple inscription "Justice - place / Of the higher free Seigneurie / Oploo. / Anno 1550 / 1790."
Valuation
The memorial plaque is of general importance. The object has cultural-historical value as a particular expression of a cultural, geographical and landscape development, namely the reclamation of the Peel by private individuals in the period shortly after 1900.
