Inleiding
HOOFDGEBOUW van de voormalige ontginningsboerderij Lactaria,oorspronkelijk gebouwd als melkfabriek en maalderij, in 1934 verbouwd en voorzien van een etage en in gebruik genomen als klooster.
Omschrijving
Tweelaags gebouw, opgetrokken uit gepleisterde baksteen opbakstenen plint, afgedekt met een samengesteld zadelddak met verbeterde Hollandse pannen en een tweetal dakkapellen.
Het gebouw bestaat uit twee haaks op elkaar gerichte en met een zadeldak afgedekte vleugels met in de oksel aan de ach-terzijde een plat afgedekt, eveneens tweelaags gedeelte. De voorgevel heeft beneden vier kruisramen met zes- en vierruitsindeling. De entree heeft een deur met rondbogig bovenlicht onder een afdak. Op de verdieping zes zesruits stolpramen enin de topgevel eveneens twee dergelijke ramen. In de zij- en achtergevels eveneens op begane grond en verdieping kleine roedenramen en zesruits stolpramen. Tegen het hoofdgebouw ligt een schuurgedeelte met tapsgewijze aflopende steunberen, onder flauw hellend, vernieuwd zadeldak met overstek.
Waardering
Het complex is van algemeen belang. Het heeftcultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de sociaal-economische en geografische ontwikkeling in de Peel, het getuigt van een typologische ontwikkeling en heeft innovatieve betekenis. Het complex heeft architectuurhistorische waarde voor de ge-schiedenis van de boerderij-architectuur en is van belang wegens de samenhang tussen exterieur en interieur; het getuigt door de opeenvolgende verbouwingen van een historische ontwikkeling die typerend is voor de streek. Het heeft ensemblewaarden wegens de situering, verbonden met de ontwik-keling van de streek. Two-storey building, constructed of plastered brick on a brick plinth, covered with a compound gabled roof with improved Dutch tiles and two roof dormers.
The building consists of two wings set at right angles to each other and covered with a gabled roof with in the corner at the rear a flat-roofed, likewise two-storey section. The front gable has below four cross windows with six- and four-pane arrangements. The entrance has a door with a round-arched fanlight under a canopy. On the upper storey six six-pane sash windows and in the gable likewise two such windows. In the side and rear gables likewise on ground floor and upper storey small glazed windows and six-pane sash windows. Against the main building lies a barn section with tapering buttresses, under a shallow-pitched, renewed gabled roof with overhang.
Valuation
The complex is of general importance. It has cultural-historical significance as a special expression of social-economic and geographical development in the Peel, it testifies to a typological development and has innovative importance. The complex has architectural-historical value for the history of farm architecture and is of importance because of the coherence between exterior and interior; it testifies through successive alterations to a historical development that is characteristic of the region.
