Schaijk Winkelstraat, Pastoor van, 1
Inleiding.
PASTORIE uit 1865 van de naastgelegen R.K. kerk van St. Antonius Abt (1892-1902) met Neo-Gotische en Eclectische motieven. In de oostgevel een ingekraste jaartalsteen met de voorletters van de toenmalige pastoor: A.P.V.d.B. Het huis staat met de voor- of zuidgevel aan de Pastoor van Winkelstraat op de hoek met de Runstraat.
In het tweede kwart van de 20ste eeuw werd aan de noordkant de pastorie uitgebreid met enkele dienstruimten.
Omschrijving.
Blokvormig tweelaags huis onder schilddak gedekt met schubleien. Voorgevel vijf traveeën breed met hoekpilasters, siermetselwerk in fries en cordon en cementen plint. Getoogde muuropeningen met op de begane grond achtruits- en op de verdieping zesruits-vensters, waarboven wenkbrauwbogen. Het muurwerk bestaat uit handgevormde baksteen, gemetseld in kruisverband.
Hoekpilasters met gele aanzetstenen. Rondbogige ingangspartij omlijst door profielstenen. In bovenlicht gekleurd glas-in-lood met voorstelling van Christus als Goede Herder, gesigneerd: van Woerkom, Nijmegen. In de andere bovenlichten van de begane grond eveneens glas-in-lood.
Op de nok van het dak een smeedijzeren klokkestoel met luidklokje. De pastorie heeft diverse authentieke interieuronderdelen onder andere vier zwart marmeren schoorsteenmantels, stucplafonds met geprofileerde lijsten, raamnissen met wegklapbare luiken. Onder het voorste gedeelte van het huis een stenen gewelfkelder.
De uitbreiding heeft een L-vormige plattegrond liggend onder gedeeltelijk wolf- en gedeeltelijk schilddak. De muren hier zijn van machinale baksteen gemetseld in kettingverband voorzien van kruisvensters.
Voor het huis bestaat de erfafscheiding uit een ijzeren hekwerk met pijlpunten en opzij uit een bakstenen schansmuur gedekt door een ezelsrug.
In de muur bevind zich een golvende rand van segmentbogen en een poort naar het achterliggende kerkhof.
Waardering.
De pastorie is van algemeen belang. Zij heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de ontwikkeling van het katholicisme in het zuiden en is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van de dorpspastorie. Zij heeft architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de stijl en de detaillering die teruggrijpen op Neo-Gotische en Eclectische motieven.
Het gebouw heeft ensemblewaarden vanwege de bijzondere betekenis door de situering naast de kerk, nauw verbonden met de ontwikkeling van het kerkdorp Schaijk.

Introduction.
RECTORY from 1865 of the adjacent R.C. church of St. Antonius Abbot (1892-1902) with Neo-Gothic and Eclectic motifs. The house stands with the front or south facade on the Pastoor van Winkelstraat at the corner with the Runstraat.
In the second quarter of the 20th century the rectory was extended on the north side with several service rooms.
Description.
Block-shaped two-storey house under a hipped roof covered with slates. Front facade five bays wide with corner pilasters, decorative masonry in frieze and cordon and cement plinth. Arched wall openings with six-pane windows on the ground floor and six-pane windows on the upper storey, above them eyebrow arches. The masonry consists of hand-formed brick, laid in cross bond.
Corner pilasters with yellow setting stones. Round arch entrance section framed by ashlar stones. In fanlight coloured stained glass depicting Christ as the Good Shepherd, signed: van Woerkom, Nijmegen. In the other fanlights of the ground floor likewise stained glass.
On the ridge of the roof a wrought-iron bell cote with a small bell. The rectory has various authentic interior components including four black marble fireplace mantels, stucco ceilings with profiled mouldings, window recesses with fold-down shutters. Beneath the front section of the house a stone vaulted cellar.
The extension has an L-shaped floor plan lying under partly half-hipped and partly hipped roof. The walls here are of machine-made brick laid in chain bond provided with cross windows.
In front of the house the property boundary consists of wrought iron fencing with arrow points and on the sides a brick scarp wall topped by a saddle back.
In the wall is a wave-shaped band of segmental arches and a gateway to the graveyard beyond.
Valuation.
The rectory is of general importance. It has cultural-historical significance as a particular expression of the development of Catholicism in the south and is also of significance for the typological development of the village rectory. It has architectural-historical value because of the style and detailing which draw on Neo-Gothic and Eclectic motifs.
The building has ensemble value because of its special significance through its location beside the church, closely linked with the development of the church village Schaijk.
