Inleiding

MOLENROMP.

Waardering

De molenromp is van algemeen belang:

- vanwege bouwtechnisch-historische waarden als herkenbaar en representatief relict van een ronde stenen korenmolen uit het midden van de 19e eeuw;

- vanwege cultuurhistorische waarden als onderdeel van de geschiedenis van de graanmaalderijen van Nederland en de industriële ontwikkeling van Noord-Brabant en de plaatselijke geschiedenis;

Introduction

MILL HULL. The round stone mill, constructed as a ground-sailer, was built in 1858 as a grain mill. The mill was dismantled in 1960, whereby the windmill sails, cap and working parts were removed. The mill hull was given a function as silo space and continues to be used as such to the present day. The mill hull is situated in an agricultural area, on a rear yard behind a former farmhouse. It is built in between various outbuildings. These outbuildings fall outside the scope of the heritage protection law. The mill hull is visible in a semi-open environment.

Description

The mill hull consists of the round conically laid brick hull with four storeys, covered with a wooden pointed roof with twelve-sided ground plan.

Valuation

The mill hull is of general importance:

- because of construction-historical values as a recognizable and representative relic of a round stone grain mill from the mid-19th century;

- because of cultural-historical values as part of the history of grain mills in the Netherlands and the industrial development of North Brabant and local history;

- because of situational values concerning the historical integrity of the surroundings.
