Inleiding
WOONHUIS uit 1903 en uitbreiding uit 1905. Het huis is gebouwd voor Franciscus Jacobus Oomen. Het ligt vrij op het perceel met de voor- of westgevel aan de Dorpstraat en toont elementen van het Eclecticisme.
Omschrijving
Het eenlaagse huis heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond met een zadeldak parallel aan de straat met houten windveren aan de topgevels. Het dak is gedekt met grijze kruispannen. Het opgaande werk bestaat uit machinale paarsrode baksteen met een hardstenen plint en doorlopende dorpels, in de voorgevel gemetseld in staand verband. De zijgevel in handgevormde rode baksteen is gemetseld in kruisverband.
De symmetrische vijf traveeën brede voorgevel met middenrisaliet en hoekpilasters heeft een gekorniste kroonlijst en fries waarin siermetselwerk met gele steen en gesneden consoles voor de goot. In het midden de voordeur in een klein portiek geflankeerd door twee T-vensters met houten rolluiken. De muuropeningen in de gevel zijn aan de bovenzijde verbonden door een doorlopende geprofileerde stuclijst met kuifbekroning. Aan de zuidoostkant van het huis een lage achterbouw onder zadeldak loodrecht op de straat. In het huis, waarvan de indeling grotendeels ongewijzigd is gebleven, bevindt zich onder andere een kelder. Frontaal voor het huis een stoep van kunststenen relieftegels met geometrische ruitvormige motieven. De stoep is afgezet met een hardstenen rand. Het erf is aan de straatkant afgescheiden door een ijzeren hekwerk met pijlpunten tussen balusters.
Waardering
Het woonhuis is van algemeen belang. Het is van cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling van de Baronie en als vertegenwoordiger van de typologische ontwikkeling van het dorpswoonhuis. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarde als late vertegenwoordiger van een aan de dorpse omstandigheden aangepast Eclecticisme.

The single-storey house has a rectangular floor plan with a gabled roof parallel to the street with wooden wind braces at the gable ends. The roof is covered with grey cross tiles. The masonry consists of machine-made purple-red brick with a hardstone plinth and continuous drip mouldings, laid in Flemish bond in the front facade. The side facade in hand-moulded red brick is laid in English bond.
The symmetrical five-bay wide front facade with central projection and corner pilasters has a corniced cornice and frieze with decorative brickwork of yellow stone and carved consoles for the gutter. In the centre the front door in a small porch flanked by two T-windows with wooden roller shutters. The wall openings in the facade are connected at the top by a continuous profiled stucco moulding with crest ornament. On the south-east side of the house a low rear building under gabled roof perpendicular to the street. In the house, the layout of which has remained largely unchanged, there is amongst other things a cellar. In front of the house a step of artificial stone relief tiles with geometric diamond-shaped motifs. The step is edged with a hardstone border. The yard is separated from the street by an iron railing with arrow points between balusters.
Valuation
The dwelling house is of general importance. It is of cultural-historical importance as an example of the socio-economic development of the Barony and as a representative of the typological development of the village dwelling house. It has architectural-historical value as a late representative of Eclecticism adapted to village circumstances.
