Inleiding
SCHOENMAKERSHUIS uit 1879 gebouwd voor Johannes van Dun. Het huis ligt vrij op het perceel met de voorgevel aan de Dorpstraat en toont elementen van het Neo-Klassicisme.
Omschrijving
Het eenlaagse huis heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond met een zadeldak parallel aan de straat met aan de achterkant een lage dakvoet. Het dak is belegd met grijze Oudhollandse pannen. Het opgaande werk bestaat uit handgevormde baksteen gemetseld in kruisverband. De gepleisterde voorgevel heeft een plint en een kroonlijst met een eenvoudige fries met tandlijst. De voordeur, die zich in het midden van de gevel bevindt, is geflankeerd door vensters met glas-in-lood bovenlicht, rolluik en rolluikkast. Rechts van de voordeur een dubbel venster met tussenstijl, uitgevoerd als zuil met kapiteel en basement. In de voordeur een gietijzeren doorzichtrooster. In het huis, waarvan de indeling grotendeels ongewijzigd is gebleven, bevindt zich onder andere een kelder met erboven een opkamer. The single-storey house has a rectangular floor plan with a gabled roof parallel to the street with a low roof edge at the back. The roof is covered with grey Dutch Old tiles. The masonry consists of hand-moulded brick laid in English bond. The rendered front facade has a plinth and a cornice with a simple frieze with denticulation. The front door, which is located in the centre of the facade, is flanked by windows with stained glass fanlights, roller shutter and roller shutter case. To the right of the front door a double window with central mullion, executed as a column with capital and plinth. In the front door a cast-iron transparent grille. In the house, the layout of which has remained largely unchanged, there is amongst other things a cellar with a small chamber above it.
