LANGGEVELBOERDERIJ, gebouwd in 1871 in Eclectische stijl.

Description
Introduction.
LONG-GABLED FARMHOUSE, built in 1871 in Eclectic style. The farmhouse, halfway along the through road from Hilvarenbeek to Diessen, bears the name 't Huiske ten Halve and was used as a café until 1933.
Description.
The facades of the farmhouse are built of handmade brick, and the gabled roof is covered with black old-Dutch roof tiles. The perpendicularly attached rear barn has a half-hipped roof with red old-Dutch roof tiles.
The plinth is plastered; the facade contains cast-iron ornamental wall anchors at the residential section and straight ornamental wall anchors at the barn section. The left side of the front facade contains the residential section with, in succession, two arched sash windows with figured panes, a panel door with an arched fanlight and again an arched sash window with figured panes. The windows have sandstone sills. Subsequently barn doors under a segmental arch with sandstone voussoirs and a keystone inscribed with the year 1871. Finally two arched iron twelve-light barn windows.
A carved and ornamented fascia board serves as a drip moulding at the front and side facades. The brickwork of the side facades is enlivened with a rising herringbone arch band. In the left gable two slightly projecting semicircular sash windows with a higher blind semicircular arch, with an ornamental wall anchor between them.
In the right side facade in the middle barn doors, on either side an arched six-light barn window and above the barn doors a hay door. In the gable a projecting round opening. On the ridge of the roof stands a brick chimney, on the left at the corner and slightly to the left of the barn doors.
Behind this is the perpendicularly attached barn. The segmental-arch barn doors with sandstone keystone have been bricked up, and next to them are straight barn doors with a small window. There are various arched concrete four-light barn windows. The brickwork at the eaves is provided with a dentil cornice. The rear facade has a brick outbuilding under a lean-to roof, a semicircular opening in the gable and on the ridge a brick chimney.
Valuation.
The farmhouse is of general importance. The building has cultural-historical significance as an example of the socio-economic development of agriculture and hospitality in the Kempen and as an example of the typological development of the long-gabled farmhouse combined with café in the late 19th century. Architecturally the property is important because of its restrained ornamentation and the way in which Eclectic motifs are used in the countryside to enhance its representative character. The farmhouse is important because of the integrity of its exterior and is rare as a farmhouse-café.
