Omschrijving
R.K. Kerk van St. Willibrord. Bestaande uit een driebeukig schip onder een zadeldak, met lage dwars-armen, een koor en een slanke toren. Koor begin 15e eeuw, schip midden 15e, dwarspand begin 16e eeuw, toren begin 16e. De toren met rijk versneden steunberen en versierd met natuurstenen boogfriezen, blindnissen met flamboyante traceringen. Kerk-interieur gewijzigd in Waterstaatsstijl: zuilen met "Dorische" lijstkapitelen waarop pilasters de gordelbogen van het houten tongewelf dragen. Mooie inrichting: drie gesneden altaarretabels: hoofdaltaar met schilderij uit het begin van de 19e eeuw, met korinthische zuilen en fronton linkse zij-retabel uit 1744 (het bijbehorende St. Jorisbeeld thans afzonderlijk opgesteld), rechts retabel, met Sebastiaansbeeld, uit omstreeks 1744; eiken preekstoel in Waterstaatsstijl, gesneden orgelkas met beelden van David en bazuinende engelen gebouwd door B.P. van Hirtum 1859 met archaiserende kas, hierin een instrument van Van Hirtum met Hoofdwerk en Onderpositief. Het orgel werd in 1976 in oorspronkelijke vorm teruggebracht. Twee biechtstoelen in Waterstaatsstijl, gesneden Communiebank, begin 19e eeuw; vroeg 19e eeuwse beelden van Petrus, Paulus, Willibrord, Anna, Johannes Evangelist, Teresa van Avila, Lucia, Norbertus, Johannes de Doper en Barbara, klein 18e eeuws beeldje van Willibrord met een kerkmodel. Description
R.C. Church of St. Willibrord. Consisting of a three-aisle nave under a gabled roof, with low transverse arms, a choir and a slender tower. Choir early 15th century, nave mid-15th, transept early 16th century, tower early 16th. The tower with richly carved buttresses and decorated with natural stone arch friezes, blind niches with flamboyant tracery. Church interior modified in Waterstaat style: columns with "Doric" list capitals on which pilasters carry the arch beams of the wooden barrel vault. Fine furnishings: three carved altar retables: high altar with painting from the early 19th century, with Corinthian columns and pediment, left side retable from 1744 (the corresponding St. George figure now separately displayed), right retable, with Sebastian figure, from circa 1744; oak pulpit in Waterstaat style, carved organ case with figures of David and trumpeting angels built by B.P. van Hirtum 1859 with archaising case, containing an instrument by Van Hirtum with Great Organ and Under Positive. The organ was restored to its original form in 1976. Two confessionals in Waterstaat style, carved communion rail, early 19th century; early 19th century figures of Peter, Paul, Willibrord, Anna, John the Evangelist, Teresa of Avila, Lucy, Norbert, John the Baptist and Barbara, small 18th century figure of Willibrord with a church model. Seven brass wall sconces and two chandeliers.
