Inleiding
Het DUBBELE WOONHUIS is gebouwd in 1895, als onderdeel van het vanaf 1892 door de gebroeders Dor opgezette fabrieksdorp ten behoeve van de door hen opgerichte zinkfabriek. Het pand staat op de hoek van Hoofdstraat en Theo Stevenslaan. Rond 1990 is de indeling van de vensters gewijzigd. Het laagste bouwdeel is verbouwd tot garage: het geheel dient heden als één woning.
Omschrijving
Het van origine dubbele woonhuis bestaat uit een drielaags dwars geplaatst deel onder zadeldak, een iets smaller anderhalflaags deel onder zadeldak en hierop volgend een eenlaags weer iets smaller gedeelte onder zadeldak: beide laatste parallel aan de straat.
De daken hebben een overstek aan de zijden. De gevels zijn opgetrokken uit rode Belgische baksteen met getande bogen rondom de bovenlichten en reliëfmetselwerk bij het hoogste bouwdeel. De muren zijn voorzien van rechte steekankers. Het hoogste bouwdeel bezit rechts een getoogd venster en links een paneeldeur onder getoogd gedeeld bovenlicht. Op de etages erboven bevinden zich elk twee getoogde vensters. Het middelste bouwdeel bezit twee getoogde vensters. Het linker gedeelte is verbouwd tot garage en is voorzien van een getoogde garagedeur. De rechtergevel is blind. De linkergevel bezit sinds de verbouwing twee getoogde ramen op de begane grond in plaats van één op de zolder.
De achtergevel van het hoogste bouwdeel heeft verspringend geplaatste vensters. De vensterindeling van de andere delen is gewijzigd. De garage is enigszins uitgebouwd.

The DOUBLE DWELLING was built in 1895, as part of the factory village set up from 1892 by the Dor brothers for the zinc factory they established. The roofs have an overhang on the sides. The facades are built of red Belgian brick with crenellated arches around the fanlights and relief brickwork at the highest building section. The walls are provided with straight wall anchors. The highest building section possesses on the right an arched window and on the left a panelled door under arched divided fanlight. On the storeys above are each two arched windows. The middle building section possesses two arched windows. The left section is converted to a garage and is provided with an arched garage door. The right facade is blank. The left facade has since the conversion two arched windows on the ground floor instead of one on the attic floor.
The rear facade of the highest building section has staggered windows. The window arrangement of the other sections has been altered. The garage is somewhat extended.
