Inleiding
Achter het pand Aalsterweg 237-239, met een muur eraan verbonden, bevindt zich een KOETSHUIS met STAL en tuinhek gebouwd in 1907 naar ontwerp van architect G. Geenen. Het geheel dat in opdracht van de notaris Fens tot stand kwam heeft kenmerken van de Chaletstijl en enkele elementen van Art Nouveau.
Omschrijving
Koetshuis met stal onder een zadeldak met windveer en een overstek op klossen. In de top is hangend houtwerk en een makelaar aangebracht. De makelaar heeft in de top een gesneden klaver drie.
Het pand is uitgevoerd in baksteen, voorzien van een gepleisterde topgevel. De speklagen zijn in strengperssteen aangebracht, uitgevoerd als bij het zomerhuis. Een brede poort met metalen latei is in de kopse gevel aangebracht. Erboven is een rondboograam zichtbaar. Het interieur is met klinkers bestraat. De voormalige koetsierswoning was op de verdieping gesitueerd. De stal bevindt zich in een afgescheiden gedeelte. De wanden zijn betegeld met witte geglazuurde tegels. Het houten hekwerk en metalen ruif zijn bewaard gebleven.
