De woningen zijn gebouwd naar plannen van W.M. Dudok in 1937, in samenwerking met aannemer P. van Grootel en maken deel uit van de wijk 'Het Witte Dorp'.

Langgerekte rij woningen. Op de begane grond is een erker aangebracht waarvan de afdekking als een luifel doorloopt tot boven de deur. Op de verdieping zijn dicht op elkaar geplaatste vierruitsramen zichtbaar.
De rij wordt doorbroken door smalle gangetjes naar de achtertuinen. Het eerste pand, grenzend aan een gangetje wijkt af van de overige bebouwing: Petrus Dondersstraat 18 en 28 zijn drielaags panden waarbij op de begane grond en eerste verdieping een samengesteld raam is aangebracht, op de eerste verdieping is daar nog een rond raam aan toegevoegd. Op de tweede verdieping zijn dicht op elkaar geplaatste vierruitsramen zichtbaar. Deze rij wordt afgesloten door tweede Wilakkerstraat 2, een dwarsgeplaatste woning. Dit pand is twee lagen hoog en voorzien van een topgevel. In deze topgevel is een rond raam aangebracht. De zijgevel komt overeen met de aangrenzende rij aan de Petrus Dondersstraat.

De woonhuizen zijn van algemeen belang. Ze hebben cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de sociaaleconomische en stedenbouwkundige ontwikkeling van de industriestad, met name als voorbeeld van de ontwikkeling van nieuwe wijken in een vroege vorm van projectontwikkeling; ze zijn tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de rijtjeswoning.
