RAIFFEISSENSTRAAT 1
Inleiding
DIRECTEURSWONING bij de bank aan de Dommelstraat. Het betreft een blokvormig pand, tegelijk met de bank door J. Stuyt in 1910 ontworpen in een Um 1800 stijl. De uitvoering van het woonhuis is soberder dan van de bank: alle decoratie is weggelaten.
Omschrijving
Tweelaags pand onder schilddak waarvan de nok evenwijdig aan de straat loopt. Het dak is gedekt met leisteen en heeft een overstekende gootlijst.
De woning is uitgevoerd in baksteen en voorzien van een gepleisterde kroonlijst. Het portiek, in het midden van de voorgevel, is van een natuurstenen geprofileerde omlijsting voorzien. Tegen de zijgevel van het pand (tuinzijde) is een houten serre gebouwd. Het trappenhuis is van buitenaf zichtbaar als een risaliet tegen de zijgevel, die boven de dakrand uitsteekt. Deze risaliet wordt bekroond door een schilddakje met piron. In het pand zijn zesruitsramen aangebracht met uitzondering van het raam, links van de voordeur (hier is een breder samengesteld raam geplaatst) en het raam boven de serre (ook hier een breder raam met terrasdeuren). Boven de ramen zijn strekken gemetseld waarbij natuurstenen blokken als aanzet- en sluitsteen fungeren. Verspreid in het dakvlak van de voorgevel zijn dakkapellen aangebracht, deze zijn voorzien van een fronton.
In het interieur is een groot aantal elementen van de oorspronkelijke aankleding van de woning bewaard gebleven. Voorbeelden daarvan zijn onder andere de lambriseringen door het hele pand heen, in de hal uitgevoerd in marmer, waar zij verder voorkomen steeds in hout. Ook een aantal stucplafonds en de granieten vloer in de hal dateren uit de bouwtijd van het pand.
Waardering
De directeurswoning is van algemeen belang. Het pand heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van een sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, namenlijk de ontwikkeling van het landbouwkrediet in de periode na 1900. Het is van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de directiewoning. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarde vanwege de stijl en de plaats in het oeuvre van de architect Stuyt. Tevens is het waardevol vanwege het bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek. Het pand is uitgevoerd in strenperssteen en heeft op de begane grond twee grote segmentboogvormige poorten waarvan er één door een raam is vervangen. De ramen op de verdieping zijn samengesteld en hebben bovenlichten gevuld met glas-in-lood. In de zijgevel zijn twee ingangen aangebracht, ertussen in is een raam zichtbaar.
