On the south side of the Dam at the corner with the Rokin, a SOCIETY BUILDING erected on all four sides between 1913-1916 in Rationalist style to a design by F. Description

A society building erected on an almost rectangular ground plan consisting of a ground floor with four, in parts five storeys beneath a hipped roof covered with shingles. Straight overhanging and profiled eaves on consoles. The ground floor, except for the side of the Beurspoortje, is entirely built of natural stone and rests on a hardstone plinth. Natural stone is also used for the bay windows, as window tracery, for the cordon moulding (as transition from first to second storey), the gable closings and for the eaves moulding. For the rest, use was made of a light-coloured brick. At street level there are large arched and round-arched window openings and the main entrance on the Dam side which gives access to vestibule and hall. The main entrance is located in a portal and is round-arched and furnished with lavishly decorated iron doors with fanlight. Above the entrance in the round-arched natural stone surround in black letters painted "INDUSTRIA". The portal is furnished with a barrel vault of light-brown brick with inlaid glazed tilework. At the level of the first floor a bay window with overlying balcony behind an openwork balustrade. The bay window is arched at the underside and rests on heavy consoles. The facade section is vertically articulated by lisenes running upward from the second storey which subdivide the windows. The horizontal articulation is effected by the regular juxtaposed rectangular window openings and the natural stone bandwork shown above each window row.

Adjacent facade section on the Dam one window bay wide and ending in an upward tapering tower superstructure with an octagonal lantern closed off by an ogee-shaped and copper-covered roof.

Rightmost facade section three window bays wide and from the first floor recessed. At the level of first floor on the corner a pentagonal bay window with copper-covered bell roof. Also two gable endings in a peak. Original interior on ground floor and first floor still largely present.
