Inleiding
In 1935 door P.L. Kramer ontworpen enkele BASCULEBRUG (brugnummer 272) met vier doorvaarten, genaamd Mariniersbrug, in opdracht van de afdeling Bruggen van de toenmalige dienst Publieke Werken van de gemeente Amsterdam. De brug is uitgevoerd in staal. De brug ligt over de Dijksgracht en verbindt de Kattenburgerstraat met de Piet Heinkade. Het betreft hier de eerste basculebrug volgens het Chicagotype in Nederland.
Omschrijving
Doorvaartwijdte van 22 meter. Brug wordt door twee motoren in beweging gebracht. De motoren bevinden zich in de machinekamer in één van de pijlers. Landhoofden en pijlers van baksteen en natuursteen. De verschillende typen stalen randliggers lopen schuin af en sluiten aan op andere liggers. Bij het vaste gedeelte hebben de randliggers een eenvoudig geprofileerde afdeklijst; bij het beweegbare deel een houten brugdek. Een geklonken stalen bovenbouw met plaatselijk bijpassende lantaarnpalen. Specifieke balustrade van smeedijzer, bij het beweegbare gedeelte vastgezet op de stalen randliggers. Opgang en balustrade naar bedieningspaneel.

In 1935 designed by P.L.
