Inleiding
Op een samengesteld rechthoekig grondplan tot stand gekomen DIERENVERBLIJF(17)uit ca. 1930, de zogenaamde 'stal voor de Indische antilopen', onderdeel van het Artis-complex. De stal ligt op de westelijke helft van het park, ten zuiden van de middenas.
Omschrijving
Het kleine middendeel is hoger opgetrokken en risaleert ten opzichte van de twee kleinere zijvleugels. Geheel onder zadeldaken met bitumineuze dekking. Kleine overstek op gordingkoppen. Afwatering middels mastgoten en regenpijpen. Gemetselde vertandingen op de hoeken. Gevels op witgepleisterde plint en opgebouwd uit baksteen in klezoorverband. In de zijgevels kleine ruitvormige vensters in omlopende laag koppen en met ijzeren geleding. Eenvoudige toegangsdeur onder strek in de voorgevel van de zijvleugels. In de voorgevel van het middendeel een soortgelijke toegangsdeur waarboven vijfzijdig venster met koppenlaag en traliewerk.

An ANIMAL ENCLOSURE (17) established circa 1930 on a composite rectangular ground plan, the so-called 'stable for Indian antelopes', component of the Artis complex. The stable is located on the western half of the park, south of the central axis.

The small central section is built higher and projects in relation to the two smaller side wings. Entirely under gabled roofs with bituminous covering. Small overhang on wall plate heads. Drainage by means of wall gutters and downpipes. Toothed brickwork on the corners. Facades on whitewashed plinth and built up of brick in Flemish bond. In the side facades small diamond-shaped windows in continuous course of headers and with iron glazing bars. Simple entrance door under lintel in the front facade of the side wings. In the front facade of the central section a similar entrance door above which a five-sided window with course of headers and ironwork.

Animal enclosure of general importance as a historic-functional component of the Artis complex.
