De voormalige LAGERE SCHOOL is in 1920 gebouwd in de stijl van de Amsterdamse School.
Omschrijving
Het eenlaagse rechthoekige gebouw is opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen met siermetselwerk en heeft een schilddak met rode verbeterde Hollandse dakpannen. Het siermetselwerk bestaat uit rollagen, staand metselverband bij de borstweringen en een sierrand in afwijkende kleur onder de daklijst. Het vierklassige gebouw bezit karakteristieke raampartijen, per ruimte twee kruisvenstervarianten geflankeerd door twee halve kruisvensters.
De ramen zijn voorzien van kleine roeden met het accent op de verticale lijn. Eén kruisvenster in het tweede lokaal van links is rond 1980 doorgebroken en verbouwd tot deur met zijraam. De gootlijst kraagt ver over en rust op houten klosjes. In het midden wordt de kap onderbroken door een brede dakkapel onder plat dak. De vierkante raampjes hebben een ruitvormige sierindeling. Op de hoeken en boven de dakkapel bevinden zich forse bakstenen schoorstenen met een stervormige doorsnede.
Tegen de verder blinde zijgevels bevinden zich kleine aanbouwsels onder plat dak. Het dak kraagt uit als luifel en vormt met twee houten zuiltjes een portiek waarin zich toegangsdeuren bevinden.
Deze deuren zijn vernieuwd. De ramen in de zijmuur hebben een overhoeks ruitvormige roedenverdeling.
De achtergevel heeft een vensterindeling en baksteengeleding gelijk aan de voorgevel.
Het voorplein van het gebouw was oorspronkelijk afgesloten door een ijzeren sierhek.

The single-storey rectangular building is constructed of machine-made brick with decorative brickwork and has a hipped roof with red improved Dutch roof tiles. The decorative brickwork consists of roll-courses, standing bond brickwork at the parapets and a decorative edge in contrasting colour beneath the eaves line. The four-classroom building has characteristic window arrangements, per room two cross window variants flanked by two half cross windows.
The windows are fitted with small glazing bars with emphasis on the vertical line. One cross window in the second room from the left was broken through and converted into a door with side window around 1980. The gutter-line projects far and rests on wooden blocks. In the centre the roof is interrupted by a broad dormer window under a flat roof. The square small panes have a diamond-shaped decorative glazing pattern. On the corners and above the dormer window are sturdy brick chimneys with a star-shaped cross-section.
Against the otherwise blind side elevations are small annexes under flat roofs. The roof projects as a canopy and forms with two wooden pillars a portico containing access doors.
