Inleiding.
CALVARIEGROEP, centraal geplaatst op het kerkhof van de St. Willibrorduskerk te Bakel. De groep is in 1854 geplaatst.
Omschrijving.
Op een brede, lage heuvel met een ronde omtrek staan de gietijzeren beelden van Maria, Johannes en de gekruisigde Christus. De betonnen heuvel is vormgegeven als een onregelmatige rotsklomp. Het Johannesbeeld heeft onder aan de voet een vaantje met de initialen: "R.J".
Waardering.
De Calvariegroep is van algemeen belang. Het geheel heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als bijzondere uitdrukking van een sociale en geestelijke ontwikkeling, in het bijzonder de ontwikkeling van de katholieke grafcultuur, het is tevens van belang voor de typologische ontwikkeling van het kerkhofmonument.
