HERENHUIS, gebouwd in 1859 met Neo-Classicistische invloeden.
Omschrijving.
Het tweelaagse pand telt vijf traveeën en is symmetrisch van opzet.
De plattegrond is rechthoekig. Het pand is opgetrokken uit handvorm baksteen met rechte muurankers en heeft een schilddak, thans voorzien van niet-oorspronkelijke asbestleien. Op de begane grond hebben de zesruits schuifvensters glas-in-lood bovenlichten en luiken, op de verdieping niet. De dorpels zijn van hardsteen, de ramen zijn geplaatst onder een strek. De paneeldeur bevindt zich in het midden en heeft een houten pilasteromlijsting met kroon- en tandlijst. Het bovenlicht heeft een sierroedenverdeling rondom een ovaal. Rechts in de gevel bevindt zich een gevelsteen met de tekst: J.J. van Deijk 1859. De gevel wordt afgesloten door een kroonlijst met bakgoot. De linkergevel heeft een zesruits schuifvenster met luiken en een kelderraam. De rechtergevel is blind. In de achtergevel bevinden zich diverse zesruits schuifvensters. Tegen de rechterzijgevel is een moderne aanbouw (2002) gebouwd; deze aanbouw is niet van waarde uit het oogpunt van monumentenzorg.
Waardering.
Het herenhuis is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling, namelijk de stichting van deftige woningen voor de lokale elite, het is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van het dorpswoonhuis. The two-storey building has five bays and is symmetrical in plan.
The ground plan is rectangular. The building is built up in hand-moulded brick with straight wall anchors and has a hipped roof, now provided with non-original asbestos slates. On the ground floor the six-pane sash windows have leaded glass fanlights and shutters, on the first floor not. The sills are of stone, the windows are placed under a lintel. The panelled door is located in the centre and has a wooden pilaster frame with cornice and dentil moulding. The fanlight has a decorative glazing bar arrangement around an oval. On the right of the facade is a facade stone with the text: J.J. van Deijk 1859. The facade is finished with a cornice with rain gutter. The left gable has a six-pane sash window with shutters and a basement window. The right gable is blank. In the rear facade there are various six-pane sash windows. Against the right side gable a modern extension (2002) has been built; this extension is not of value from the point of view of monument care.
Valuation.
The manor house is of general importance. It has cultural-historical interest as a particular expression of socio-economic development, namely the establishment of fine residences for the local elite, and is also of significance as an example of the typological development of the village residential house.
