Inleiding.
De ONDERWIJZERSWONING voor de bovenmeester werd rond 1920 gebouwd in Neo-Barokke stijl. Het pand is heden in gebruik als woonhuis.
Omschrijving.
Het tweelaagse woonhuis is opgetrokken uit machinale baksteen met gekrulde sierankers en heeft dakschilden met rode verbeterde hollandse dakpannen en een plat dakdeel. Het rechterdeel van de gevel is een zadeldak ingeklemd tussen in- en uitgezwenkte topgevels. In dit risalerende rechter gedeelte bevindt zich op de begane grond een erker met afgeschuinde zijden. De bovenlichten hebben een kleine roedenverdeling, het zinken dak heeft een daklijstje op klosjes. Hier boven bevindt zich een gekoppeld raam met kleine roeden in het bovenlicht. Boven dit venster en de overige is een getoogde zwart-rode strek met zwarte afsluitende koppenlaag. Op de zolder is er een vierruits rondraam.
Tussen dit rechter gedeelte en de school bevindt zich een stolpraam met bovenlicht en een paneeldeur. Deur en raam hebben een bovenlicht met kleine roeden. In de paneeldeur bevindt zich een ovaal getralied licht. Hier boven is een opengewerkte baksteen borstwering en een balkondeur met kleine roedenverdeling. De gootlijst rust op klosjes.
In de sobere rechter zijgevel bevinden zich op de begane grond twee ramen en op de eerste etage één raam. De achtergevel bezit openslaande terrasdeuren vanuit de huiskamer.
Via een tochtportaal komt men in de hal. Beide hebben cementtegels op de vloer in grijs-blauwe tinten met gestileerd geometrische motieven. Het hang- en sluitwerk is van koper en voorzien van eenvoudige decoratie. Links is de bordestrap met houten sierbalusters. Rechts is de huiskamer, een doorgebroken kamer-en-suite. Voor en achter is het stucplafond voorzien van een cirkel bij het lichtpunt. Andere ruimten zijn gemoderniseerd.
Waardering.
De voormalige bovenmeesterswoning is van algemeen belang. Het gebouw heeft cultuurhistorisch belang als voorbeeld van een culturele en geestelijke ontwikkeling, namelijk de ontwikkeling van het onderwijs in de vroege twintigste eeuw. Het is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van de onderwijzerswoning. Architectuurhistorisch is het belangrijk vanwege de stijl en de voor een plattelandsschool uitzonderlijk rijke detaillering.
Het heeft ensemblewaarden vanwege de situering, verbonden met de ontwikkeling van het dorp. Het is waardevol vanwege de gaafheid van in- en exterieur.

Description.
The two-storey residential building is constructed of machine-made brick with ornamental wall anchors and has hipped roofs with red improved Dutch roof tiles and a flat roof section. The right part of the facade is a gabled roof wedged between inward and outward curving gable ends. In this projecting right section there is an oriel window with chamfered sides on the ground floor. The fanlights have small glazing bars, the zinc roof has a small roof moulding on corbels. Above this is a coupled window with small glazing bars in the fanlight. Above this window and the others is an arched black-red course with a black finishing course of headers. On the attic floor there is a four-pane round window.
Between this right section and the school there is a bell-shaped window with fanlight and a panelled door. Door and window have a fanlight with small glazing bars. The panelled door contains an oval barred light. Above this is an open-worked brick parapet and a balcony door with small glazing bars. The cornice rests on corbels.
In the plain right side gable there are two windows on the ground floor and one window on the first storey. The rear gable has glazed terrace doors opening from the living room.
Through a draught vestibule one enters the hall. Both have cement tiles on the floor in grey-blue tones with stylised geometric motifs. The hinges and fastenings are of copper and fitted with simple decoration. On the left is the wooden staircase with wooden ornamental balusters. On the right is the living room, an open-plan room-and-suite. Front and back the stucco ceiling has a circle at the light point. Other rooms have been modernised.
Valuation.
The former headmaster's dwelling is of general importance. The building has cultural-historical importance as an example of cultural and spiritual development, namely the development of education in the early twentieth century. It is also of importance as an example of the typological development of the teacher's dwelling. From an architectural-historical perspective, it is important because of its style and the exceptionally rich detailing for a rural school.
