Inleiding
Aan de westelijke zijde van de Visser, in de kom van Deurne, staat het voormalige R.K. KLOOSTER met school van de Franse Fraters, missionarissen van het Heilig Hart, afkomstig uit Tilburg. Het blokvormige gebouw dateert uit 1896 en mengt Neo-Gotische en Eclectische stijlelementen.
Omschrijving
Het tweelaags gebouw heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en wordt gedekt door een plat dak, voorzien van schilden rondom gedekt met geschubde eternit-leien. De gevels zijn gemetseld in baksteen en hebben een hardstenen plint en dorpellijst. De strekken worden verlevendigd door kunststenen blokjes, banden en wenkbrauwbogen zijn in gele strengpers uitgevoerd. Zware gemetselde steunberen flankeren de middenrisaliet, alsmede de hoeken van de voorgevel. De voorgevel heeft een symmetrische opzet met zeven vensterassen. In het midden van de gevel is over de volle hoogte een risaliet uitgemetseld, met een vernieuwde voordeur in een portiek en twee dubbele rondboog-bovenlichten. Het venster in de risaliet op de verdieping is als alle andere en bestaat uit een gemetselde korfboog waaronder een dubbel lancetvenster is gevat met houten roedenverdeling. De risaliet wordt bekroond door een uitkragende bakstenen topgevel met hardstenen deklijst. In de topgevel, geflankeerd door twee rondbooglichten, is een kalkstenen beeld van de H. Willibrordus opgesteld. De overige vensters hebben dezelfde indeling als het risaliet-paar. Tegen het dakschild staat links en rechts van de risaliet een dakkapel met hardstenen puntgevel met gebeeldhouwde driepassen en piron. In elk van de kapellen een schuifvenster met kleine roedeverdeling.
Achter het klooster ligt een kloostertuin. De ondiepe voortuin wordt door een lage tuinmuur met ezelsrug van de openbare weg gescheiden.
Waardering
Het klooster is van algemeen belang. Het heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van een geestelijke ontwikkeling, namelijk de bloei van orden en congregaties in en is tevens van belang als voorbeeld van de typologische ontwikkeling van het congregatieklooster. Het is architectuurhistorisch van belang vanwege de voor een klooster nogal uitzonderlijke, haast robuuste stijl, het bijzondere materiaalgebruik en de ornamentiek, die in hun robuustheid de functie uitdragen. Het is uitwendig gaaf bewaard gebleven.

Introduction
On the western side of the Visser, in the centre of Deurne, stands the former R.K. CONVENT with school of the French Friars, missionaries of the Sacred Heart, originating from Tilburg. The block-shaped building dates from 1896 and combines Neo-Gothic and Eclectic style elements.
Description
The two-storey building has a rectangular floor plan and is covered by a flat roof, furnished with hipped sections around covered with scaled eternit slates. The facades are built in brick and have a sandstone plinth and sill moulding. The wall surfaces are enlivened by artificial stone blocks, bands and eyebrow arches executed in yellow pressed brick. Heavy built-in buttresses flank the central projection, as well as the corners of the front facade. The front facade has a symmetrical layout with seven window bays. In the centre of the facade a projection is built out over the full height, with a renewed front door in a portico and two double round-arch fanlights. The window in the projection on the first floor is like all others and consists of a built-in corbel arch under which a double lancet window is set with wooden glazing bars. The projection is crowned by a projecting brick stepped gable with sandstone coping. In the stepped gable, flanked by two round-arch lights, is positioned a limestone statue of St. Willibrordus. The remaining windows have the same layout as the projection pair. Against the hipped roof stand on the left and right of the projection a roof dormer with sandstone pointed gable with carved trefoils and crocket. In each of the dormers a sash window with small glazing bars.
Behind the convent lies a convent garden. The shallow front garden is separated from the public road by a low garden wall with a saddle back.
Valuation
The convent is of general importance. It has cultural-historical value as an example of spiritual development, namely the flourishing of religious orders and congregations, and is also of significance as an example of the typological development of the congregation convent. It is of architectural-historical significance because of the rather exceptional, almost robust style for a convent, the distinctive use of materials and the ornaments which in their robustness convey the function. It has been preserved externally in good condition.
