Inleiding
VILLA, van de weg afgelegen, bereikbaar vanaf een zijweg aan de noord-westzijde. Het woonhuis werd in 1937 in opdracht van de gebroeders Uyterlinde door de Amersfoortse architect J.H. Blom ontworpen. De bouwstijl van het pand is functionalistisch met invloeden uit het zakelijk expressionisme.
De villa is sedertdien vrijwel niet gewijzigd en ook het interieur vertoont nog veel authentieke elementen.
Omschrijving
De villa bestaat uit een compositie van drie blokken van verschillend formaat op een vrijwel rechthoekige plattegrond. De bouwdelen worden besloten door overstekende, platte daken.
Het gebouw heeft twee bouwlagen en een even boven het dak uitreikend torenelement en een kelderlaag over de gehele plattegrond, waarin zich onder andere een garage bevindt.
De voorgevel (zuid-oostzijde) is evenwijdig gelegen aan de Utrechtseweg. In het midden bevindt zich het grootste blokvormige volume. Een groot samengesteld venster in de linkerhelft geeft licht aan de woonkamer. In de eerste bouwlaag bevinden zich links een samengesteld strokenvenster en rechts dubbele openslaande balkondeuren, die toegang geven tot het afgeronde gemetselde balkon, dat ter rechterzijde van het middenblok uitsteekt. Een smaller en lager blok, rechts, is teruggelegen achter een verhoogd terras. Op de begane grond bevindt zich een deur en een venster.
De tweede bouwlaag is nog verder teruggelegen, daarmee ruimte biedend aan een balkon met dubbele openslaande deuren. Het hoogopgaande blok links met ontvangstruimte en trappartij is teruggelegen ten opzichte van het middenblok. Een drietal traptreden geeft toegang tot het niveau van de entree met een ver overstekende betonnen luifel. Een smal verticaal strokenvenster is over de tweede en derde bouwlaag van de toren aangebracht.
De achtergevel toont dezelfde driedeling zoals die bij de voorgevel aanwezig is, hier echter risaleren het linker- en een deel van het rechterblok ten opzichte van het middenblok. Op de overgang van het linker- naar het middenblok bevindt zich een schoorsteen. De verschillende venster- en deurpartijen zijn gerangschikt achter twee balkons, die zich ter hoogte van de eerste en tweede bouwlaag langs de gehele lengte van het middenblok bevinden. Onder het laagste balkon bevinden zich een drietal vensters die licht verschaffen in het souterrain. Kleine horizontale en verticale vensters bevinden zich in de blokken links en rechts.
De linker zijgevel is een hoogopgaande, relatief gesloten gevel, gelegen aan het einde van de toegangsweg naar de villa. De gevel is gecomponeerd rond het torenelement dat zich rechts van het midden van de gevel over twee bouwlagen (souterrain uitgesloten) uitstrekt. Ter linkerzijde, in hetzelfde vlak van de toren, bevinden zich drie bouwlagen en ter rechterzijde van de toren verbreedt het vlak zich alleen in het souterrain. In dat deel bevinden zich garagedeuren met de daarvoor gelegen hellende toerit. De garagedeuren worden geflankeerd door kleine vensters.
