BAARHUISJE uit het laatste kwart van de negentiende eeuw in Neo-Gotische stijl, behorende tot het rooms-katholieke complex O.L.V. Geboorte en gelegen aan de oostelijke rand van het kerkhof achter de kerk en pastorie.
Omschrijving
Baarhuisje in de vorm van een kleine kapel, bestaande uit één bouwlaag op rechthoekig grondplan onder zadeldak met leien in Maasdekking. De gevels zijn opgetrokken in rode baksteen gemetseld in kruisverband met snijvoeg. De voor- en achterzijde zijn uitgevoerd als puntgevels en worden afgedekt met natuursteen, de vier gevelhoeken zijn uitgemetseld.
De voorgevel heeft een spitsboogvormige opening vanaf het maaiveld die wordt afgesloten met een dubbel ijzeren spijlenhek. De boog wordt omgeven door een spitsboogvormig spaarveld gevuld met gele baksteen en bekroond door een rond gietijzeren venster in de top van de gevel, met een roedenverdeling in neogotische trant. Op de geveltop bevindt zich een Latijns kruis. De voorgevel heeft drie ijzeren rozetankers.
De achtergevel wordt vanaf het maaiveld geleed door een spitsboogvormig spaarveld in rode baksteen. Boven in het spaarveld bevindt zich een rond gietijzeren venster met rechthoekige roedenverdeling.
In beide zijgevels bevinden zich twee kleine hooggeplaatste vensters.

Het baarhuisje is van algemeen belang uit architectuur- en cultuurhistorisch oogpunt als gaaf bewaard voorbeeld van een baarhuisje uit het vierde kwart van de negentiende eeuw. MORTUARY CHAPEL from the last quarter of the nineteenth century in Neo-Gothic style, belonging to the Roman Catholic complex O.L.V. Geboorte and located at the eastern edge of the churchyard behind the church and rectory.
Description
Mortuary chapel in the form of a small chapel, consisting of one storey on a rectangular ground plan under a gabled roof with slates in Maas bond. The facades are constructed in red brick laid in English bond with struck joint. The front and rear sides are executed as pointed gables and are covered with natural stone, the four gable corners are laid in brick.
The front facade has a pointed-arch-shaped opening from ground level which is closed with a double iron picket gate. The arch is surrounded by a pointed-arch-shaped spandrel filled with yellow brick and crowned by a round cast-iron window at the top of the facade, with glazing bars in neo-gothic manner. On the gable top is a Latin cross. The front facade has three iron rosette anchors.
The rear facade is divided from ground level by a pointed-arch-shaped spandrel in red brick. Above in the spandrel is a round cast-iron window with rectangular glazing bars.
In both side facades are two small high-set windows.
Valuation
The mortuary chapel is of general importance from an architectural and cultural-historical perspective as a well-preserved example of a mortuary chapel from the fourth quarter of the nineteenth century. The mortuary chapel has situational value and ensemble value because of its location on the churchyard and as a historically-functional component of the church complex O.L.V. Geboorte.
