Inleiding
AFSLUITBARE WEGVERSPERRING nummer 139, ("Walzkörpersperre") met bijbehorende schuttersputten gebouwd in 1943, gelegen in het duingebied ten noorden van Zandvoort ter hoogte van strandpaal 64 als onderdeel van de Atlantikwall. De wegversperring, werd gebouwd om een passage door een duinrug onder meer voor tanks te kunnen afsluiten. Een tweede wegverspering van dit type bevindt zich in het duingebied van IJmuiden (nummer 111).
Omschrijving
Symmetrisch opgezette en in gewapend beton uitgevoerde afsluitbare wegversperring, bestaande uit twee landhoofden met daartussen twee langwerpige betonnen blokken met afgeronde en met staal beklede hoek die in horizontale (gesloten) dan wel verticale (geopende) positie konden worden gebracht. In de landhoofden en aan weerszijden van de afsluitbare passage bevinden zich bijbehorende schuttersputten.
Waardering
De afsluitbare wegversperring met bijbehorende schuttersputten is van algemeen belang wegens cultuurhistorische waarde als gaaf bewaard gebleven en zeldzaam geworden voorbeeld van permanente verdedigingsbouw in Nederland. Van ensemblewaarde als onderdeel van de 'Atlantikwall'.

CLOSABLE ROAD BARRIER number 139, ("Walzkörpersperre") with associated gun emplacements built in 1943, located in the dune area north of Zandvoort at the level of beach marker 64 as part of the Atlantikwall. The road barrier was built to be able to close off a passage through a dune ridge, among other things for tanks. Description
Symmetrically arranged and constructed in reinforced concrete, this closable road barrier consists of two abutments with between them two elongated concrete blocks with rounded corners clad in steel that could be moved into a horizontal (closed) or vertical (open) position. In the abutments and on both sides of the closable passage there are associated gun emplacements.
